After having my 06 dodge stratus checked out. 6 codes showed up. I don't want to just start throwing parts on without knowing the real reason for the problem. The car drives fine and then just stalls. It starts right up and drive fine again. Codes: p0129 p0344 p0339 p0340 p0335 p0122

Let's start with the codes.

Po129 refers to barosensor

Po344 is a code for the camshaft position sensor

Po339 crankshaft position sensor

Po340 camshaft position circuit malfunction

Po335 crankshaft POS sensor malfunction

Po122 throttle pedal position

Item 2,3,4,5 relate to each other that s camshaft and crankshaft position sensors. Since both already show a malfunction code, it would be advisable to change.

Sometimes other codes show up because there is a relation but not that the item is bad.

Replaced starter on my 04 dodge stratus and still cranks but still doesnt start what else can be the problem

numerous reasons: Check for blown fuses for the ECU- the brains of the car. Next try replacing the fuel filter (not likely). Next- fuel pump relay-Turn on ignition but don't try to start, listen for a humming sound from the gas tank, pump should run for about 2 seconds then stop, if it does this you can rule out the fuel pump relay, if not change out the relay and try above again, if still no humming then the pump it self might be bad. This I think is the only check you can do without specialized tools
Crankshaft position sensor mechanic will have to check this.
There is a sensor that watches your oil level-might be bad

Stalling and reving on a 2001 Dakota

First don't listen to Autozone, they are not trained techs and have no real experiences on what might cause this. You need to do a system scan for fault codes, if the crank sensor shows up as a fault keep in mind the sensor is not the only thing that can cause the fault code for a sensor, the wiring to it the computer and so on can cause this code as well. Have a good shop look into this problem before you start "throwing" parts at it that may or may not fix the problem.

The P0442 means Evapotative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak), I think you have known where is the problem.

Motor turns over but don't start no fire and it's

you probably have a code in the pcm(computer) that should be checked out.you could have a bad crank sensor or a bad cam sensor. but it should be checked out to know what the code is.just so you know on chryslers these 2 codes could be caused by the oposite sensor.

My front end of my 06 dodge stratus shakes during acceleration and calms down when I set the cruise control. It starts about 35mph.

Aside from the usual rotating tires to different
locations & balancing ,in case a wheel weight fell off,
you have to check motor & transaxle mounts & front
CV drive axle joints

Assuming you have no real obvious worn ball joints

These issues exist simply because someone just has
to get under the car & start to really apply their skills
& find the problem

If you don't do your own work, you are just sold any number of
services & no effort is put forth to help with the real shaking
issues etc

Hi Guru/Master, I have a 2006 Dodge Stratus SXT, 2.4L Engine. It has AIRBAG light on, and horn doesn't work. I guess it is the clock spring needs to be replaced. I couldn't find the part/model...

I don't believe this part is available aftermarket. I recently was looking for the same part on an 01, and could only find it at the dealer. It was right around 135 dollars. Have your vin number handy when you call them, they will probably ask you for it.

2002 dodge stratus crank circuit code comes up I have replaced distributor cap and my car won't turn over .

the distributor is not the crank sensor. just because you have a code does not mean its a bad sensor. There are other reasons the code can set. The other half of the crank sensor is a magnet inside to cover. You need to inspect the magnet to be sure its clean and did not crack and fall down. The crank sensor can be checked for a signal to verify its not working. Go to youtube or do a search on how to test it. Just throwing parts on a car without verifying its bad can get expensive if you choose to skip the diagnostics.

No fire

Did you check RPM signal from crank sensor? It is the primary sensor on ALL cars for spark generation.
