Code P1747 short or failure in EPC solenoid circuit ( EPC = electronic pressure control solenoid )

code P0743 TCC solenoid circuit failure ( TCC = torque convertor clutch solenoid )

code P0750 SS1 solenoid circuit failure ( SS1 = shift solenoid 1, first gear )

code P0755 SS2 solenoid circuit failure ( SS2 = shift solenoid 2, 2nd gear )

check the wiring harness going to the transmission sounds like it may have come loose from the holding clamps and has gotten into the exhust it would be hard to belive that all the solenoids failed at the same time but stranger things have happened. if the wiring looks ok check the plugis on the transmission if they look ok its time to go inside the transmission.

one bad should not cause all the codes, but the wiring could. check the harness we used to see them short out on top of the transmission, the transmission case gets hot enought to melt the cover on the harness and then the wires rub on the case and short out.

  • Anonymous Sep 01, 2011

if not the wiring, you will need to remove the transmission oil pan and test the wiring inside there if its ok then you will need to test each solenoid if the solenoids test ok you will need to find someone with a scanner with the abbilty to turn the circuits on could be that the problem is there is no transmission pressure and the computer is turning the solenoids on and off but it is not seeing any thing happen because there is a problem with the transmission itself, but the P0743, P0750, P0755 most usely are an electrail problem to much restance in the circuits, so i think you are going to find a problem with the wiring.

SOURCE: 1st and o/d gear do not work and O/D light flashes

I would say that the 1 gear and odo is out. Transition may need replaced but first you have codes great, shucks automotive will place a reader to your codes and tell you for free what it is, You may be able to call and tell the codes but I would do that step, The only ones that are going to have the answers to the codes are dealers, auto shops and parts stores. Part stores are free. If you don't have odo placed on the dash board then push the odo butten and it should say odo off then when the car is shut off it should go back to the way it should when you start the car again, and odo should not be showing because it is always on . In stead of trying to go to a auto mechanic I would place phone calls most of them are very nice and information is very helpful, The ford store is very happy to give you any info you need.

1st.. check fuse for clutch solenoid/relay. 2nd... replace clutch solenoid/relay. 3rd... check for damaged wiring to trransmission or connector to transmission. If all these are correct, see your Ford Dealer.

I have ford expedition 2001with this code p0750 p1747 p0755 p0743

All of these are transmission codes. More diagnostics need to be done to it. Could be a bad solenoid, valve body, or a transmission rebuild.

Cods P1747,P0750,P0755,P0743

OK, so is it still setting the codes? Or has that gone away with the transmission harness repair? The idle is controlled by the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid. Ford has had a lot of trouble with these. However, the symptom is usually low idle speeds that cause the engine to stall. I think I would be looking for vacuum leaks. Ford 4.6L engines are notorious for the PCV hoses leaking at the elbow where it connects to the back of the throttle body.
