'92 Ford Explorer Vacuum Lines changed

Hi,
I had a stalling problem with my Explorer and it was due to the vacuum lines. The fuel pump was recently changed before I purchased the vehicle last summer. The main line that was cause to concern was made of a relativity hard plastic and was all crushed into it self. I got the new hose and changed it, but the new hose was much more flexible and made of rubber. It still stalls constantly whether I'm driving it or it's idling. Should the hose that I replaced be hard plastic or should it rubber like the new ones I put on it?

SOURCE: stalls when put into gear

Its possible it could be other things causing the problem, but seeing as you've checked most of the likely causes, it is most likely your Torque-Converter. The lockup clutch in your Stator-Fan located inside the Torque-Converter could be siezed, causing the car to stall.

SOURCE: No Heat..Heater Core Is Heating..Vacuum Lines?

I have a '96 Eddie Bauer Limited and it has the same problem. They told me that there is a small butterfly valvu located in the vac lines to select between hot or cold air. There is a tension spring connected to the valve, to an acutator, and to your ac contorl system. The spring on mine broke, so the valve opens and closes due to suction only. It is supposed to be about a $700.00 fix (due to the valves location by the firewall) but I have found a way around that. Try to aggressively apply the brakes making the vehicle slow rapidly, and at the same time turning on the blower fans with full bast heat selected. If this does not work, try doing the previous while going around a right hand corner. The corner will help the momentum of the valve turn in the right direction. Remember you have to switch the fan on full blast when you try either. If it works you should hear a thud as the valve flips shut and the heat should start coming out of the vents.

Good luck

SOURCE: wiring and vacuum diagrams

wiring diagrams for a lot of vehicles (but not all!)
go to autozone . com
repair info (on the left)
vehicle repair guides (center panel)
put in your vehicle info
select chassis electrical
then wiring diagrams (on the right, bottom of the list)

You might be able to find vacuum diagrams also, but I'm not sure.

How does the vacuum lines go on a 2003 Ford explorer 4.0?

The vacuum lines on a 2003 Ford Explorer 4.0 are connected to the intake manifold, the brake booster, the EGR valve, the PCV valve, the air intake, and the fuel pressure regulator. The exact routing of the lines will depend on the specific model and engine configuration.

How do I install a fuel pump on a 2000 ford Explorer

disconnect all fuel lines to the tank, vacuum hoses to tank and electrical connections at tank, fuel filler hose from gas cap. support the fuel tank and undo the tank straps then lower the fuel tank(it will be heavy). clean surface of tank from dirty then undo the locking ring that holds the tank unit to the tank and remove the unit. I think on this model of truck the complete unit gets changed not just the pump. assembly in reverse.

Do i need to drop the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump?

Yes, two bolts hold the front, a strap with one bolt holds middle/rear of tank. Once you start to lower it using a floor jack, disconnect the two wiring harness one on pump other on a vacuum sensor, fuel lines, and a vacuum line (evap), then lower down four bolts hold pump in, assembly is opposite of taking it out.
