That is the oil pressure sending unit, and the only fix is to replace it. It screws in & out like a bolt. Be sure to put a sealant of some kind, or thread tape, on the threads of the new one before you install it. It may take a special wrench or socket that the parts store should have or may even let you borrow it. Just firmly snug it in. Don't crank it as hard as you can. It will snap off, and you'll be walking! Finally, don't forget to hook the wire back up!!

Dodge Durango. Leaking oil right behind the oil filter. It looks like a freeze plug but it's leaking oil.

Freeze plugs only leak coolant. It is likely that the oil is coming from above it.

It has an air cooler. There is a lot of information on Durango oil leaks here

While putting on the hoses one of the hoses connect to the oil filter housing and it moved slightly but enough for oil to leake do i need to replace a gasket or can i turn it back the other way and solve...

there is a rubber seal behind the oil cooler(that is where the hose connects) the best thing would be to remove the oil filter and oil cooler to replace the seal. I would at least remove the oil filter and try to tighten the large nut that holds the oil cooler on and see if that stops the oil leak

Where the oil filter fits, coming out of the side of engine is a plugw/2 wires looks like connected to shaft where oil filter fits,It's leaking oil where wires fit into

From your description you are likely looking at your oil pressure sending unit. If it's leaking, replace it. Have your parts guy look at it if you can just to make sure it isn't something else....he will (should) know right off...Only problem is I can't see it from here!!!

Good luck !!

Leak from oil filter connection at block

No. Please do NOT use silicone. The oil pressure there is very high, and it will blow the silicone right out.
...What you CAN do, if it is leaking real bad, is to take the rubber gasket off of the oil filter, and use that gasket behind the oil cooler, to the block. You will need to buy a new filter, though.
The gaskets are almost identical, until you get a new one from a Toyota dealer.

This should get you up and running. Thanks for choosing FixYa for assistance.
The graciousness of a FixYa rating would be most appreciated.

2001triton v10 oil leak

i believe you are looking at the oil cooler, replacing the gasket is not that difficult, drain the radiator, remove the oil filter and it should be 4 bolts and the whole assembly comes off, keep in mind though its more common for the oil filter itself to be leaking rather than the oil cooler gasket.

Oil leaking on front right side of the car near oil pan and oil filter

You need to clean the engine and then run the vehicle while watching the area. The most common failure is the oil sending unit located near the oil filter. I have also seen a leak develop between the oil pump housing, which is mounted directly behind the hamonic balencer and the engine block.
