Remove offending wheel and set park brake extremely tight. Remove brake pads from caliper, and then unbolt caliper. Release the park brake. Unbolt the heater supply tube. Remove six 8mm hex bolts on the CV joint near the transmission. Remove axle. Remove four bolts on outside of housing that hold the 2 bearing race retainers. Reinstall new bearing into the housing... again this will require the EBS tool, and of course you'll have to rearrange the parts of the tool. Once the new bearing is installed, reinstall the bearing race retainers and the four screws that hold the retainers. Carefully reinstall the axle, making sure not to push the hub out of the bearing again.Reinstall six 8mm hex bolts holding the CV joint to the transmission. Reinstall rotor then set parking brake extremely tight.Reinstall brake caliper andl brake pads. Reinstall heater supply tube and wheel, torque wheel bolts to 96 ft-lbs, re-install transmission cover and suspension cover. Here you can find the quality parts http://www.carpartswarehouse.com/part/wheel-hub-bearing.html

I have a 83 Bronco 351w I am doing the brakes and the passenger side rotor needs to be replaced can someone walk me through this thanks

Personally I would replace both rotors to prevent a future brake imbalance.

* chock rear wheels, raise front of vehicle and place on stands.

* remove wheels, remove brake calliper and bracket assemblies.

* remove bearing hubs from axles, via removal of bearing adjustment nut

*remove hub seals, clean and inspect bearings, repack with HT bearing grease.

* the brake rotor bolts to the rear of the hub, you will have to remove and replace rotor to hubs, make sure all bolts are thread locked with loctite 263 and tensioned to spec.

* pack hub with grease, install seals, fitt hub assembly and adjust wheel bearing preload, install new split pins.

* fitt brake calliper and brackets, fit new brake pads,

* fitt wheels lower vehicle, test brake for function

Hope this helps..

How to replace rear wheel bearing

Hi there,

Well to replace the rear wheel bearing it is best to buy the hub with the new bearing pressed in already. The entire assembly runs about $100.00 at any part store. Remove whichever rear wheel you are replacing. The brake line or ABS sensor might be fastened to the rear of the hub so loose that up. Next there are only four bolts the that hold the hub assembly to the control arm. Take those four bolts off and you might need to tab out the hub assembly with a hammer due to rust but spray WD-40 or something similar to help move easier. Hit it from the rear. Don't worry about bang on the ABS sensor exciter ring because the new hub has one on already. Please post comments for further help or information.......

Good Luck!!

How do you change the rear wheel bearings

The rear hub and bearing are combined into a single assembly. The bearing is sealed for life and requires no lubrication or attention. If the bearing is worn or damaged, you have to replace the entire hub and bearing assembly:
loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, place it on jack stands and remove the rear wheel.
Remove the brake drum or caliper and disc.
Remove the dust cover (in the center).
Unstake the hub retaining nut (bend the part out that locks it), unscrew the nut and remove the thrust washer then remove the hub assembly.
Install the new assembly and thrust washer, tighten the new nut to torque 134 lbs, then stake in the edge of the nut (opposite of unstaking).
Tap the dust cover into place, all around the edge until it's seated.
Reverse removal for the rest.
Hope this helps you understand the process.

I need instructions on how to replace rear wheel bearings on my 1994 Honda Civic

Bearings are pressed into the hubs...much easier, faster and economical (if you don't have a press) to replace the complete bearing/hub assembly, no pressing is needed, since bearings are already pressed into the new hubs. Cost..aprox, 60 buxs each.
Here are the steps for the rear replacement...
Loosen the lug nuts on a rear wheel. 2) Chock the wheels and jack the rear of the car on the side with the lug nuts that you just loosened. 3) Remove the wheel by removing the lug nuts. 4) Pry open the dust cap covering the center of the axle/spindle. A small screwdriver tapped into the space between the hub and dust cap will work well for this. 5) With the dust cap now removed, use a thin center punch to straighten the little dent in the rim of the spindle nut so that you will be able to turn it freely in the next step. 6) Use a 32mm socket and a large breaker-bar to loosen the spindle nut. Unscrew the nut all the way and place it in a clean, safe area. 7) You should now be able to slide the hub/bearing assembly from the shaft. 8) Installation is the reverse of removal. Use plenty of high-temperature wheel bearing grease on all surfaces before you mount the replacement hub assembly.

IMPORTANT: Torque the spindle nut to 134 ft/lbs....(per manual specs)

When reinstalling the dust caps, tap them gently into place to avoid denting them...Install wheels, jack her down and pat yourself on the back...job complete.
Good luck..hope this will fixya up...please take time to leave me a fixya rateing...
