My 2003 nissan xterra will not start. It started fine 30 minutes ago, now nothing. All of the electrical on the dash powers up. But as soon as I turn the ignition it loses all power.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. This sounds like a connection problem. Check your battery, clean the terminals, ends, and post. Make sure it is held down tightly. It is either a weak battery, alternator, or bad connection. If they check out, it may have to due with your ignition switch/starter. Check the connection first.

I was driving my 2003 Nissan Xterra on the highway, I cut on my headlights and immediately the over drive light on the dash started to flicker, the next thing I knew the SUV lost all power.

My 2001 Nissan pathfinder is doing the same thing....i replaced my battery and starter...It might be cables running from the battery to the starter......good luck!!!

My 2002 xterra has started running hot..code po 217 came on..after gas cap was put on wrong..cleared code put gas cap on right then fine for 2 weeks..when idleing heat gauge rises high..as soon as i rev...

p0217 is coolant over temperature. the fan clutch may be slipping or the thermostat is bad. changing the thermostat would probably be the easiest and most inexpensive fix to determine the problem.

2001 Xterra - Replaced fuel pump twice and is still not running.

I am no expert, but I just had a similar problem. The car would shake and buck when accelerating. It finally just died and would not start. After sitting for some time, the car would start and run a while, then do the same thing. I thought fuel pump. The dealer diagnosed distributor. After replacing, the car is running perfect. Something to think about. Good luck.
