Remove the plastic trim for the gear shift console (check for hidden screws) but most of them are just pried off carefully. The bulb will be easily accessible, just replace it, and done!

is your shift lever in console on floor ? if so , either the plug / connection is loose or backup switch might need replaced ! I would think the switch/plug is located within console . you might need to place gear lever into neutral, after placing emergency brake on . carefully pry top of console off , gear shift knob might need removed, maybe not ! the switch should be visible when console top is lifted off, check and repair or replace !
you need a haynes repair manual with photos show you how to remove shifter knob and shift selector cover usually held in place by clips you have screws to hold gear selector trim plate in place.reason need repair to keep from doing damage to gear selector cover and console.
