I think your talking about the recovery tank hose. If so, just shove it back on the fitting, and clamp it. If the fitting is what has broken you may have to replace the recovery tank or the radiator.

How to change the thermostat house in a Dodge 2004 intrepid

Check this procedure for...
2.7L Engine
  1. Disconnect negative cable.
    CAUTION Do not remove pressure cap with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
  2. Drain cooling system.
  3. Remove radiator lower hose from thermostat housing.
  4. Remove nuts from heater tube flange studs.
  5. Loosen starter bolt at heater tube bracket.
  6. Pull heater tube out of thermostat housing and position out of the way.
  7. Remove bolt and two studs.
  8. Remove thermostat housing, O-ring and thermostat.
  9. Remove thermostat housing bolts.
To install:
  1. Clean gasket sealing surfaces.
    NOTE Install thermostat with the bleed valve located at the 12 o'clock position, between tabs on seal.
  2. Install thermostat and seal into thermostat housing .
  3. If removed, install two studs.
  4. Install thermostat, thermostat housing and O-ring and bolt. Tighten attaching bolts to 105 inch lbs.(12 Nm).
  5. Lubricate new heater return tube O-ring with coolant.
  6. Position heater return tube flange over two studs. Install nuts.
  7. Tighten retaining nuts to 53 inch lbs.(6 Nm).
  8. Tighten starter bolt to 40 ft. lbs. (54.3 Nm).
  9. Connect the lower radiator hose to the thermostat housing. Install hose clamps.
  10. Refill cooling system.
  11. Inspect for leaks.
  12. Connect negative cable.

3.2L & 3.5L Engines
  1. Disconnect negative cable.
    CAUTION Do not remove pressure cap with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
  2. Drain cooling system.
  3. Raise vehicle on hoist.
  4. Disconnect electrical connectors from engine oil and power steering pressure switches.
  5. Disconnect radiator and heater hoses from thermostat housing.
  6. Remove thermostat housing bolts.
  7. Remove housing, thermostat, and gasket.
    NOTE The OEM thermostat is staked in place at the factory. To ensure proper seating of replacement thermostat, carefully remove the bulged metal from the thermostat housing using a suitable hand held grinder. It is not necessary to restake the replacement thermostat into the thermostat housing.
To install:
  1. Position gasket on thermostat and housing.
  2. Install thermostat housing, gasket and mounting bolts onto block. Tighten attaching bolts to 105 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
  3. Install radiator hose.
  4. Install bypass hose.
  5. Connect electrical connectors from engine oil and power steering pressure switches.
  6. Connect negative cable.
  7. Fill cooling system.
  8. Inspect for leaks.
  9. Lower vehicle on hoist.

(1.8L and 1.9L Engines)

CAUTION Never open, service or drain the radiator or cooling system when hot; serious burns can occur from the steam and hot coolant. Also, when draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantities. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Place fender covers on the aprons.
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Drain the cooling system.
  4. Remove the right and left-hand front splash shields.
  5. Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
  6. If equipped with an automatic transaxle, disconnect the lower oil cooler line from the radiator. Remove the oil cooler line brackets from the bottom of the radiator.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. If equipped with an automatic transaxle and air conditioning, remove the seal located between the radiator and the fan shroud.
  9. If equipped with an automatic transaxle, remove the upper oil cooler line from the radiator.
  10. If equipped with the 1.8L engine, remove the resonance duct from the radiator mounts.

  15. Remove the upper radiator hose and the two upper radiator mounts.
  16. If equipped, remove the fluid cooler tube bracket bolts and coolant overflow hose from the radiator.
  17. Remove the radiator from the engine compartment by lifting it straight up.


2.0L Engine
(1997 MODELS)
  1. Remove the fan motor, blade and shroud assembly.
  2. Raise the car and support it with safety stands.
  3. Unfasten the left-hand splash shield bolts and remove the shield.

To install:
  1. Install the radiator and tighten the bracket bolts.
  2. If equipped with an automatic transaxle, connect the upper oil cooler outlet tube.
  3. Install the radiator cap and connect the radiator overflow hose.
  4. Connect the upper radiator hose, then raise the car and support it with safety stands.
  5. If equipped with an automatic transaxle, tighten the oil cooler tube bracket bolts.
  6. Connect the lower radiator hose and if equipped with an automatic transaxle, the lower oil cooler outlet tube.
  7. Fill the cooling system with the specified amount and mixture of coolant.
  8. Install the splash shield and tighten the bolts.
  9. Lower the car and install the shroud, blade and fan motor assembly.
  10. Start the car and check for coolant leaks.

How to change a radiator

1988–91 Models
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Properly drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Disconnect the fan motor and motor connector.
  4. Disconnect the upper and lower radiator hoses.
  5. Disconnect and plug the automatic transaxle cooling lines at the radiator, if equipped.
  6. Disconnect the coolant reservoir overflow hose.
  7. Remove the radiator attaching bolts and brackets.
  8. Remove the radiator with the cooling fan attached.
  9. Remove the cooling fan and shroud from the radiator. NOTE: Check all cooling system hoses for any signs of damage, leaks or deterioration and replace if necessary. To install:
  10. Attach the cooling fan and shroud to the radiator and install the assembly.
  11. Attach the radiator bolts and brackets. Tighten the radiator bracket bolts to 7 ft. lbs. (10 Nm).
  12. Connect the coolant reservoir overflow hose.
  13. Connect the automatic transaxle cooling lines to the radiator, if equipped.

Removal & Installation
2.7L Engine
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector .
  4. Remove engine coolant sensor from coolant outlet tube .
To install:
  1. Apply thread sealant to sensor threads.
  2. Install engine coolant temperature sensor into coolant outlet tube.
  3. Tighten sensor to 20 ft. lbs.(28 Nm) torque.
  4. Connect electrical connector to engine coolant temperature sensor .

3.2L And 3.5L Engines
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system.
  3. With the engine cold, disconnect coolant sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove sensor.
To install:
  1. Install engine coolant temperature sensor.
  2. Tighten sensor to 20 ft. lbs.(28 Nm) torque.
  3. Attach electrical connector to sensor.
  4. Connect negative battery cable.
Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain cooling system.
  3. Remove upper radiator hose.
  4. Disconnect cooling fan electrical connector.

  6. Operate engine until it reaches normal operating temperature.
  7. Check cooling system and automatic transmission for correct fluid levels.

How do you replace a radiator in a dodge shadow 1993

These are the instructions for a 4 cylinder motor.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

CAUTION Do NOT remove the cylinder block or the radiator draincock with the system hot and under pressure because serious burns from coolant can occur.
  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2. Remove the hose clamps and hoses from the radiator. Remove the coolant reserve system tank-to-filler neck tube.
  3. Remove the automatic transaxle hoses, if so equipped.
  4. Remove the fan and fan support assembly by disconnecting the fan motor electrical wiring.
  5. Remove the fan shroud retaining clips, located on the top and bottom of the shroud for most of the vehicles (the Dynasty has them only on the top).
  6. Lift the shroud up and out of the bottom shroud attachment clips separating the shroud from the radiator. Avoid damaging the fan.
  7. Remove the upper radiator mounting screws. Disconnect the engine block heater wire, if so equipped.
  8. Remove the air conditioning condenser attaching screws located at the top front of the radiator, if the vehicle is equipped with air conditioning.
  9. Lift the radiator free of the engine compartment.
Care should be taken to NOT damage the radiator cooling fins or water tubes during removal or installation.
To install:
  1. Slide the radiator down into position behind the radiator support.
  2. Attach the air conditioning condenser to the radiator, if so equipped, with a force of approximately 10 lbs. (44 N) to seat the radiator assembly lower rubber isolators in the mount holes provided.
  3. Tighten the radiator mounting screws to 108 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
  4. Connect the automatic transaxle hoses, if so equipped. Tighten the hose clamps to 35 inch lbs. (4 Nm).
  5. Slide the fan shroud, fan and motor down into the clips on the lower radiator flange. Install new shroud retaining clips.
  6. Install the upper and lower radiator hoses (including the coolant reserve hose).
  7. Plug the fan motor electrical connection and attach the negative (-) battery cable.
  8. Fill the cooling system with coolant (refer to Section 1 for more details).
  9. Operate the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check the cooling system and automatic transaxle (if equipped) for the correct fluid levels. Also check for coolant leaks.

6-Cylinder Engines
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.

sounds like hoses going to heater core but they are rubber usually. But it could be the hoses for the degs bottle mounted on the passenger side inner fender.

Coolant Recovery System NOTE: When the water thermostat (8575) is closed, coolant flows through the degas tube and hose assembly from the lower intake manifold to the radiator coolant recovery reservoir (8A080) .

Trapped air in the cooling system must be removed. A pressurized radiant coolant recovery reservoir system is used which continuously separates the air from the cooling system.
  • When the water thermostat is open, coolant flows through both the small hose from the top of the radiator outlet tank and the degas tube and hose assembly from the engine to the radiator coolant recovery reservoir.
  • The radiator coolant recovery reservoir separates any trapped air from the coolant and replenishes the system through its radiator coolant recovery hose.
  • The radiator coolant recovery reservoir serves as the location for:
    • service fill.
    • coolant expansion during warm-up.
    • system pressurization from the pressure relief cap.
    • air separation during operation.
  • The radiator coolant recovery reservoir is designed to have approximately 0.5-1 liter (0.53-1.06 quarts) of air when cold to allow for coolant expansion
