My battery light is still on after changeing the battery and testing the alternater

Is the system charging? You should have 14.2 14.6 volts at the battery. The charge light is controlled by the alternator internally. If the charging system is working, you could have a bad diode inside the alternator keeping the light on or a short/grounded circuit to the battery light

Not good to pull cable off batteries to test alternators an yes could be alternator or u may not have power to the alt.meaning the wire on top of alt or may havy bad plug wire boyh easy to check

you've had the misfortune of getting a bad rebuilt alternator-sorry-they should give you another one -I hope its not hard to replace-Denny

The most likely cause if you have changed batteries and replaced the alternator is that you have something that is an electrical drw when the car is shut off.

I assume the battery goes down while the car is sitting?

If it goes down when you are driving, it is likely a different problem.

If you don't have a multimeter to check for current draw when everything is shut off, an easy test to remove the negative battery cable and let it set the time it takes to discharge.

Then hook it back up and see if you have a full battery. If it doesn't go down with the batteryt cable disconnected, you either have a short somewhere or there is something left on (like a glove compartment or trunk light) that is draining the battery.

I assume you checked for the obvious things like brake lights staying on when the car is shut off (brake light switch problem).

make sure alternator exitation feed is good

check to make sure there is a belt on the alternater take it to a local auto parts store to have them test your battery and alternater dont go to far though you might get stranded replace the alternater if its frading under 13.0 volts output

Hi if the battery light remains on whilst driving this indicates that the battery isnt charging at full capacity this usually means that the alternater needs replacing but its also worth getting the battery tested as this could also be the problem but the chances are the alternater needs replacing.

Your alternater is boarding a plane out of town. Actually it's the regulator built into the alt. Have your battery and alternator both tested. High charging voltage can burn up yor battery and lights. Here it is in a nutshell. The lower the voltage the higher the charging amps. At 15 volts the alternater is not charging the battery but simply pouring out voltage.. Have your battery load tested because it tell the alt wat to do, Have the alternater test to see if it has a comprehension problem. IFirst, make sure your batt cables are clean and tight.. Especially the negative cable.Good luck

start engine and hold rpm about 1500 turn all light on and wipers heated rear windows the lot ,if engine stops the altenator is U/S if it all keeps working and engine running change the battery

Mazda Mpv 2000 I also have the same problem, the alternater is testing good- 14.12Amp, so what is the problem the battery light will not go off.
