2001 XL7 Airconditioning is not working only air not cold.

Check the bearing in the end of the blower motor. They go bad and make a noise and over time will start rubbing and squealing like crazy.

no year ? is FAIL for all helpers.....

check your electric cooling fan that is bad.

You will first have to check to see if the refrigerant has leaked out from the system. You may do one simple check yourself which is to turn on the airconditioning and look in the engine bay for the high and low pressure air-con pipes. There will be one pipe freezing cold if the system has refrigerant in it and the pump is working correctly. If not, then have the system checked by a professional.

the blower motor is out of your car that blows hot and cold air. get that replaced and this will fix your problem.

WellI don't know a whole lot about cars but my 2001 Yukon was doing this exact thing and I took it to the shop and it was the accuator under the seat! It was fairly cheap and now it's working perfect, hope this helps..... oh it was $90.

really need to have it in front of me ,could be a fault in the controls .but it must have a switch to turn AC off

It may be the alternator... not a very expensive part to replace your self, about $150.

Either you are out of coolent or the compressor is not working.

First check the fuses, then lift the hood and have a friend turn the air on. The compressor should cycle, if not take it to a mechanic. If it does cycle you are low on freon, take it to a mechanic for a system charge. Make sure they check for leaks first.

SEE IF THE AIR COND. VENTILATOR IS WORKING WHEN YOU START IT (IT´S IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR BEHIND THE RADIATOR).
