94 buick lesabre changed the ignition coils, wires, plugs fuel filter, had a new converter put on, old one stolen, replaced ECM. it starts up fine runs for awhile then misses like crazy with the muffler popping and a little back firing. the car sat for about 8 months prior, changed all these parts out and still the same thing. sometimes after driving for awhile it no starts then after sitting it fires up, valves rattle like crazy then that goes away then sometimes it shakes and sputters then drives fine for a couple of miles then does it all over again. had wires and coils checked they are correct

You check the coils with a ohm meter. They should 6-8 thousand ohms at the spark plug connections. One lead to one spark plug connection and the other lead to the other . It's not likely a coil for stalling. If coil , Your car can still run on four cylinders. It can be a ignition module. It fails when it gets extremely hot. The module is located under the coils.

Its probably a vacuum line problem or EVAP or possibly the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Make sure that is hooked up as well. Examine all lines to see if there is a rip or tear or anything loose

Try some Lucas fuel treatment,with a less fuel as possible so it can work better,it will be stronger,it will clean the injectors,and it will help if carbon is on the valves,it will burn it off the valves.Also check the fuel pump pressure.

Remave the battery cables from the battery and clean the connections and replace bolts. Have seen this before.
