WITH ENGINE IDLING.SHIFT TRANSMISSION FROM PARK TO LOW 1 GEAR. TWICE DO EACH GEARS AT ONE TIME. WITH TRANSMISSION BACK IN PARK.CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL ON DIP STICK SHOULD BE AT THE FULL MARK IF NOT ADD A PINT AT A TIME TO GET TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL CORRECT. DONT OVER FILL.

I believe you have a sealed trans. There is small window on the trans to check level. Not real useful though.

take it to a shop and have them top it up so you can be sure you have the fluid you need to keep the car going as it should,,,,thats your safest bet
SOURCE: landcruiser auto transmission,,how to check fluid level
when you open your hood look in the back of the motor on the left side.. you should see a stick with a circle on the end of it for your finger have you vehicle running warmed up that means let it run for 10 or 15 min. and then pull the stick out.. wipe it off real good. stick it back in all the way.. pull it back out and hold it horizontally and check it.. it's sometimes hard to read because it has bubbles on it.. try it a couple of times to get an accurate reading good-luck ray

This is complicated.... Ok, your right, no dip stick is there! This is how it works.
Underneath the car, there is a plug (11mm) on the transmission case on the passenger side. It is about 3" up from the pan edge and on the front side of the case. With the engine running in PARK, remove this plug. If trans fuild doesn't run out of the hole, the level is low. Pour it in the hole on top (where the red cap is) until the fluid runs out - all while the car is running. Once it is roughly dribbling out, the trans is considered full. replace plug. Your done!!
