Hello. Welcoem to FIxYa. Please allow us to assist you.

If the Brake warning light is illuminated on your instrument cluster, the cruise control is prevented from being set. This is normal.

The most common reason for the Brake light to be illuminated is low brake fluid in the brake master cylinder. As the brakes wear, the fluid in the master cylinder drops proportionally to make up for the wear on the brakes.

We sould suggest that you check the fluid level in the master cylinder. If it is low, top it off with a new can of brake fluid. Don't use brake fluid that has been opened, use new. Brake fluid that has been sitting in a can will draw moisture, and this moisture, when you put it into your master cylinder, may cause your steel brake parts (that touch the fluid) to rust.

If the fluid level is OK, you may have another issue; one that a trained professional needs to look at.

Thanks for choosing FIxYa for assistance. If you have any questions, please feel free to get back to me.

ABS light stays on if car is started with parking brake engaged.

The ABS light illuminates when there is an "out of specification" condition. From your description, it sounds like your parking brake cable may require tightening, or there may be an issue where the rear brakes are not properly releasing when the parking brake is released. With car that is nearly 20 years old, it is not inconceivable that the rear brakes and parking brake assembly may require regular service.

A good first step would be to have error codes read out by a local mechanic or auto parts store. This may give you a better indication of the specific problem. In any case, ANY brake warning should be taken VERY SERIOUSLY and corrected IMMEDIATELY, as you may have a potentially dangerous potential of catastrophic brake failure. PLEASE GET THE ISSUE FIXED RIGHT AWAY!

CRUISE CONTROL WON'T WORK ON 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER

check cruise control fuse and check the brake lights see if brake light working because the brake light switch will deactivate cruise control when brakes is applied.if brake lights dont work either fuse blowed or switch bad.if all is good have vechicle code scan because cruise control control by PCM and vechicle speed sensor and thottle actuator control motor.

My 2004 ford explorer brake light intermittently stay on, it will not shift out of park, and the cruise control is malfunctioning. HELP

Check all fuses for the brakes this is a warning that something is wrong that's why your locked in park also check all contacts and wires for corrosion and continuity I've seen this before and it's brake related but you must check all including the cruise control are you sure you weren't touching the set accelerator or resume buttons ? It could just be the brake light switch down at the pedal it's probably done it's 14years old now if never have been replaced good luck Stephen

My cruise control won't work and my brake light is on. The car is a 1994 Toyota Camry. Thank you.

Your brakes warning light or your actual brake lights? If it is your warning light that can come Monday if you're park break is on or slightly on or the switch that says that it is on is faulty, in which case it may tell your cruise control to turn off. If your brake lights stay on there's something pul to you about your switch by the pedal as your cruise will not work when you hit the bricks and this will be perceived as you hitting the brakes. A break warning light will also, come on if your brake fluid is low.

My DSC and Brake warning lamps continuously light up in yellow once the engine has warmed up. They remain on after driving for a while and sometimes they shut off. Any ideas?

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the car

Have you recently had any brake work done? I had a 05' freestyle that did the same thing.. when you tap the brake the cruise kicks off right? so if your brake pedal is sticking or not returning fully to the up position, the cruise will immediately kick off like you applied the brake. Check to see if your brake lights are staying on when you release the brake. Let me know what happens, please and good luck.

Electrical problems

sounds like the brake light switch is the culprit for both the intermittent brake lights and cruise control problems. the engine warning light could be an unrelated issue that needs to be diagnosed.
