Came into my shop with bad water pump, of course we replaced the timing belt at the same time, line up timing marks according to the info we have at hand alldata, ect.... But no matter what I still can't get it to run right. Is there some sort of combo. I mean I am doing it exactly as the instuctions but still a random missfire code and missfire on 1 2 3 cylinders. Also I might ad when the vehicle was brought in it ran perfect other than the water pump problem. Please help!!!
Hi it sounds like the belt is out a tooth as if it worked ok before the belt was fitted if the belt is correct it would run as before the engine light will come on if is misfiring soon as it detects it misfiring on more than three occacions and if its missing n 1. 2 and three this would seem to back this up do a compression test see what that reveals if it is out a tooth it may well have bent a valve hope this helps yates210456

I was able to find out what was the matter, You might want to save this, A friend of mine, Which took me a day or two to find, Anyway helped me to find a repair. Now this is a theory of ours which kind of led to our conclusion. When the water pump went bad there was no water being circulated through the engine, after discussing it with the customer the vehicle had been driven quite a few miles with no water flowing, Well after we replaced the water pump there was water flowing through the engine and through other components. Long story short the throttlebody went bad? Believe it or not.
