Please help! My key Fob will lock all the doors on my 2006 VW Passat. It will only lock three of the doors and leave the passenger side unlocked...When I manually lock the passenger side door...it won't lock either. So I assume it's the door lock sensor than needs to be replaced. Is this hard to fix yourself, or I should send to a shop for replacement or repair? I noticed the problem when the chirp doesn't happen when I push the lock button on my key fob...Please guide me in the right direction. Thanks!

Sounds like you have a bad door lock actuator or one of the lock rods has come loose and is in a bind. Can you hear any noise from the door lock actuator in that door when you operate the power door locks? If not, you probably need to replace the actuator. The hardest part will be getting the door panel off without damage. Once the door panel is off, it should be fairly easy to replace the lock actuator even if it comes with the entire latch assembly.

I have a 2006 VW Passat. Unable to unlock the car doors with the key fob (no manual key at all or even keyholes in the doors sadly) so this is my only way to get in the car. Every other button works on the...

The control unit (comfort system central control module) that opens the doors from the fob signal is usually under the dash on the driver's side. You cam see it on page 7 or so of the diagrams at http://www.revbase.com/BBBMotor/Wd/DownloadPdf?id=132991

Since the other fob features are working, it might be that the module just doesn't recognize the signal the fob is sending.
Or maybe the fob is not sending a signal at all. Very hard to troubleshoot, but you can check to see if the control module is sending voltage to the locks by probing the connectors on the module.

My passenger side door will not lock using the key fob or by pushing the button on the door. The alarm no longer beeps when you push lock on the key fob.

the alarm is not operating because the door isnt locking ,to locate the fault you will need to remove the door panel anbd have a look ,it may just need a good squirt of engine oil in a proper oil can ,no spray as it dries out too quick

DRIVERS DOOR WILL NOT OPEN, WHEN OPENED FROM INSIDE WILL NOT CATC

I have this on a Passat 1998 model and it's frustrating, im at the point where all 4 doors wont unlock and the 2 front ones work with the key but need to be closed with the key again. The boot opens and closes with the remote.I removed and cleaned all four door barrels when they opened intermitently and under the passenger side footwell is the ecu for the windows&alarm which i removed and cleaned as well as soldered 2 dry joints. If i activate the fob i hear the relay in the ecu click and double click to lock and the boot lock works which indicates the electrics are ok.Doing a google there are 1000sssds of queries with passat/vw door lock problems and the main cause is dry solder joints in the door lock mechanisms in the door.I found out from the main dealer when replacing my bootlock(the old one was damaged in a theft attempt) that a new modified part was available and the same for door locks????leading me to believe this is a widespread problem. The only thing is to remove the door parts and inspect the catch and circut board for dry joints. This link may help you. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1542461 copy and paste this into your browser or google the website if you dont know how.

My wife is stuck at the airport. the key fob on

On the driver's side door handle, there is a cap covering the key hole on the right side. On the bottom of the cap is a small ****. Use the valet key to pry it up and off. Then you may open the door, most likely sounding the alarm, so you will need to insert the remote in the ignition to stop the NOISE!!!! Hope this helps. This is how I lock my remote away when I go somewhere to run.
