Use a 12 volt test light or voltmeter to check for power at the start terminal of the solenoid when the key is turned to start. If there is no power, verify that the starter works by jumping the starter as shown in the post below. If the starter will jump, the problem is the wire from the starter relay (which is what you may hear clicking) to the solenoid. If there is power at the solenoid when the ignition is turned to start and the starter will not jump, the problem is the starter/solenoid.
