I have a Hyundai Grandeur 1999 model and sometime i have problem with automatic drive..it stuck in number 3 gair.. its shows like that.. but car can run easily .. only think is when i stop even gair doesn't goes down it stuck in gair no 3 and when i take out the key its come back in normal position ... can you help me with this problem please....

1. Stuck thermostat
2. Low on coolant
3. bad water pump..
(#1 is best bet). .. FLUSH entire system when replacing the thermostat... check the hoses for wear..(they wear out from the inside.. look for bubbling, cracking, being soft inside.....replace if any questions...(not fun being stuck because of a $10 hose..!!!)
have you check cam timing, has the timing belt jumped or has it broken and need replacing. does this have an anti-theft system on it and if so is it activated to cause no start. are the injectors working, have you check for codes in the computer is there is a problem with the computer. just some things to look into.
i think your brakes have a leak check your drive/parking area for brake fluid i know this sounds funny but if you see fluid or a dark area under one wheel of car, smell it it should smell slightly sweet get your brakes checked out.adrian,,,
dear friend if your vehicle get stuck in third gear,then it means your vehicle goes in limp mode,you should take your to a repair shop for a diagnostic test,there must be fault code present.
could be several problems either a defective guage,a loose wire or a bad sending unit which is in the tank itself and requires a fair amount of work to replace. please rate this solution
