If van starts then quits, could be passlock theft system.reset system to see. ( is the theft system light on! ) if so do this. attempt to start the van, let it stall, but do not turn key off! leave it in run. wait 10 minutes untill the theft light glows steady instead of blinking. do not turn key off, but start it immediatly. this should reset your passlock system. good-day! this works for all gm vehicles.

Gm vehicles have been known to have faulty anti theft security systems. One of the symtoms of this is when your vehicle starts for 1-5 seconds and then stalls. A good way to know if this is the problem is when you see a light on the dash that says SECURITY. If you see this light flashing or on solid, this explains the van not starting. 2006 toyota tacoma 4.0l having trouble starting changed fuel pump no fix. can start on starting fluid & it will run for a few days and quit again can it be a crank or cam sensor

My first thought is no because if the crank or cam sensor were defective then starting fluid would have no bearing on the engine starting. I would think faulty fuel related problem like fuel pump, fuel regulator etc. Hope that helps

00 Explorer 4.0 ohv v6. If cam position sensor fails will it cause, #1 engine to die at hwy speed 60mph? Also upon trying to restart, it cranks very fast, is that poss. cam sensor failure too? Thanks

No, to the second question- sensor won't make it crank any different. Faster than normal cranking often means a broken timing belt -less friction with the valve train not moving, so engine spins faster. But you have a timing chain, right? Any engine noise when it quit at 60mph? You could watch some valve action through the oil filler cap while the engine is being cranked, to make sure the timing chain is still intact.
If all is good, check for spark and gas to the engine. If stopped while running, it could be a failed fuel pump or a problem in the ignition system- cam or crank sensor, ignition coil, ignition control module, some of the things to check if no spark.

Have a 99 Town and Country mini van, everytime I start it, it runs for about 2 seconds and quits...please help, what could it be?

Cam or crank sensor maybe a great place to start. May even be both. Also alternator, and fuel pressure could pose problems

96 T100 (3.4), will only run for 2-3 seconds then quit, change fuel filter, pump, cam sensor and crank sensor still won't run, but will run on ether. Where to go next?

What you are telling me is the engine is firing the plugs but not getting fuel.
When you changed the fuel pump and filter, did you check the fuel pressure at the rail ?
Are the injectors getting power and ground pulse ??

2000 chevy express 5.0 2500 series starts, runs and dies all in 10 seconds. changed fuel pump, filter, pressure regulator, and starter(only cause sparks were comming from the solenoid)

Try swapping out the fuel pump relay, if thats good try testing your ignition system components. Start with the module and coil pack. If they are ok check the crank position or cam position sensor (which ever applies).
