Make sure the interior light switch is turned off so they only come on when the door is opened(this happens alot),the next thing is it could be a door switch that has a problem thinking its open.you could also have a headlight switch that has an internal problem like a short that is allowing power to the interior light wire circuit of the switch causing the interior lights to stay on.

Getting to the tail lights of an 89 corvette

I have a 1989 Coupe and I removed the fuel door and the fuel boot and reached in through the access. You have to have skinny arms, though. It's a tight fit. I've read where some remove the inner fender, possibly the spare tire too or remove the rear fascia. Never tried those since I have skinny arms and can reach through after removing fuel door and boot.

My 1989 Chevy Corvette,( 350 automatic ) the

More than likely the heater valve is stuck open. You can usually purchase them from the local parts house. As far as the ride most of these cars ride this way. You can update the suspension with newer designs and shocks to allow a softer ride and can even get suspension that is adjustable allowing you to set the ride and performance yourself to your liking. Air suspension is probably also available to allow maximum soft ride.

My 1992 corvette Interior light stays on

I am not sure about the 1992 since they have newer dashboard than my 86.

Anyway, I got that same intermittent issue on mine, sometime the battery was drawn in the morning sometime not, very frustrating, until i noticed that the interior light sometime was not going out as it should after 30 seconds when leaving the car in the evening.

I eventually found the timer module after removing the upper dash pad, on the passenger side. The module was just partially unplugged. Put it back in and never got problem anymore (was 6 years ago).

Rough idle

The cam or crank sensor is going out when driving at high speeds. I would have those parts check, and have the fuel pressure check , fuel filter change to be on the safe side.

Good luck

1985 corvette coupe very hard start

There is a series of two videos addressing a very similar problem with a 1989 Corvette, first one diagnosis, second one fix. Seems like this is a not unusual problem for these older Corvettes. Check out the links.

Right front wheel gets hot.

It sounds like a classic "hot brake", your caliper is probably stuck depressed on the rotor. You will probably need to replace the caliper and both front rotors as the one that is getting hot is probably warped. They are replaced in pairs. Get the rotors/caliper and do it yourself. It really is a simple task with minimal tools/mechanical expertise. Get a Hanyes repair manual and it will be a breeze and save you $1K.
