In a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer, the fuse for the dashboard lights and taillights is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side of the vehicle. The exact location of the fuse and the fuse number may vary depending on the specific model of Mountaineer you have.
To find the correct fuse, you will need to refer to the owner's manual for your vehicle. The owner's manual should have a diagram of the fuse box, which will show the location and function of each fuse. Alternatively, you can also check the label on the inside of the fuse box cover, which should also list the function of each fuse.
Once you have located the correct fuse, you can use a fuse tester or a multimeter to test the fuse to see if it is functioning properly. If the fuse is blown, you will need to replace it with a new one of the same rating. It is important to use a fuse with the correct amperage rating to avoid damaging the electrical system. If you are unsure which fuse to use, it is recommended to consult a professional mechanic or refer to the owner's manual for guidance.
Fuses complete a circuit, like a straight piece of wire Replacing a fuse won't fix a thing Check all fuses You need an owners manual for location, once you find the correct fuse panel Not likely you have a fuse issue Check the back up switch somewhere around transaxle
Our fuse diagrams come from the owners manuals which are available online, these manuals only go back to the 2004 model year. I suggest you try eBay for a used owners manuals.
The interior light fuse is blown and needs replaced. If this keeps happening have the van checked for a short. Look in the owners manual to identify the fuse that needs replacement.
Hi, the likely problem is the turn signal switch. The signals and brake lights use different fuses. You can get an owners manual here: http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/chevrolet/1996-Chevrolet-Cavalier.pdf
A new switch is about $40, and it isn't too hard to replace. Make sure you get one that has the same controls as yours does. To replace the switch, remove the covers from the steering column, disconnect the switch and unscrew it from the column.
Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.
The tail/running/license plate lights do have a fuse. Check the fuse box to see if it's blown. There is a fuse box under the driver's side dash, left kick panel and under the hood, on the passenger's side.
why do u think it is the fuses?, what would make the fuses blow? a shorted circuit, so replacing them would yield you nothing, they would blow again, but the fuse info is in the owners manual, here is a link to the owners manual free, go to the link and follow that to Ford site for a cost free download of the owners manual. http://www.edmunds.com/ownership/howto/articles/120189/article.html
First, have you checked the fuses? See owner's manual for location. If blown fuse, replace it. If it's not a blown fuse or if it blows again after being replaced, please get back to me.
