Just answered a similar question. Does it turn over? Either way, I would look for blown fuse and then check (usually) under the hood for a relay. You can some times test by taking another relay for lights or something not needed to run and switch them IF THEY ARE EXACTLY the same. If the pu,p works you will know.
There is no fuel reset button on GM vehicles ! If you have no fuel , your fuel pump or fuel pump relay or the PCM - powertrain control module is bad ! or you have a wiring problem !How do you know you have a fuel problem ? did you do a fuel pressure test ? Do you have a crank no start ? GM Fuel Pump Relay Testing
look under floor mat in trunk and you will find a small door above the fuel tank. Open this door and using a slotted screwdriver turn the valve head 90 degrees clockwise or 1/4 turn. Then pump gas pedal 4 times, click your heels and turn ignition key.
Hello mellissa, the 2000 malibu does not have a fuel reset switch. Check the fuel pump relay in the fuse box under the hood. Check for fuel pressure. You should be able to hear the fuel pump come on for a few seconds when you turn the key to the run position....Your fuel pump might have failed. I hope this helps.
Chevy doesn't use a fuel pump reset switch, it does have a circuit that turns the fuel pump off if the engine losses oil pressure. Ford does use a reset switch and does have a button you press to reset it.
If you are referring to the fuel pump reset it is not used on GM cars, the fuel pump is turned off if the engine looses oil pressure after a sudden stop like an accident. Ford however uses a fuel pump reset that opens when you have a collision exceeding 3 times the force of gravity is experienced, It has a reset button. If you haven't had an accident and just have no fuel pressure then the pump has likely failed and will need to be replaced.
on 2000 malibu, the fuel pump is in the tank it will take you as long as it takes to drop tank! fuel pump is on top of tank, before starting remove fuel pressure by removing fuel pump fuse and run until it quits.it will take approx. 2-3hours to do a decent job. exhaust pipe is not on top it is on the left of the tank.
