Can't get car to start

if you put the wrong key in, it triggered the theft deterrent system, disabling the ignition of the engine. it needs to be reset now with the existing keys.

Car will not start when ignition key is turned. All warning lamps light up, enginee doesn't even try to start even with the clutch depressed

1. So the car was running normally and then on one occasion you put in the key to start it and all the warning lights flash up on the dash and the starter motor will not turn the engine over. Is that correct.

2. When you last drove the car were any warning lights appearing on the dash.such as check engine warning, engine overheating, electrical charging warnings etc.\

3. Has any work been carried out on the car recently.

4. How old is the battery in the car.

Electrical problems

Same thing is happening right now on a 2002 Monte Carlo. When the key is simply turned to ON, all of the lights on the dash starts blinking rapidly. When I attempt to turn the car over, there is no CLICK or anything from the engine - nada. Ignition turns and the dash goes dark, as if it wants to TRY to start - but nothing happens.
But, when I press the brake pedal (and the key is just sitting in the ON position), all of the blinking lights stops flashing and just stay lit. Therefore, I changed the brake switch, thinking it might make a huge difference. Didn't really help at all. When the key is turned, you can hear the fuel pump engage and everything seems to be ready to go. But, the car won't start (it will only start when it feels like it)...hit and miss, pretty much.
Does anyone know the TRUE solution to this issue? Does the ignition need to be replaced in order to get this car to crank over

Engine won't start. Dash lights flash rapidly when key turned.

the battery says 12 volts but may be dropping to 4 or 5 under a load...i would suggest jumpstarting the car and see what happens.the battery should read in the high 12 volts and not less than 9.5 under cranking. the dash lights go out on your car when starting, and the alarm will go off ,and disable the ignition if the voltage is too low in cranking the car because the computer will shut it down and activate the anti theft.....check your battery posts are tight. best of luck

Seems like the car is staying in "ACC" (accesory key position)

BFC that body function controller. BFC batt fuse controls .the body function controller .its part of the PCM.the BFC controls anti theft system. your interior lights -drl lights- radio -door locks.if your check engine light is on take it to dealership.because your BFC and PCM works together. your car could shut off. that unsafe.when you on a busy highway.you have electrical problem.not a home fix.
