Hello,

Trouble code P1756 means: Governor pressure not equal to target at 15-20 ps
Governor pressure in the trans is not correct. Fairly easy fix. Drop the trans pan and get a governor pressure solenoid from your local dealer. Bolts in pretty easy.

you need to check the fuel pressure,and did you mean you replaced the distributor or just the rotor because inside the distributor is a pickup plate that some times causes this also 02 sensor can cause this.is your check engine light on if so go to chain auto parts store they usually read your codes for free.

Whenever a check engine light comes on it is a sensor sending a trouble code to the cars computer. You need to take it in to a mechanic and have them hook a scanner to the comnputer to pull the code and then they can tell you what the problem is.

Check engine light on,1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee,4.0 six cylinder.code 1757.cleared code,comes back on after a few minutes of driving. Trans is sluggish,when pulling out,after a complete stop.

I just had those similar symptoms with my 97 grand cherokee a week ago and my crankshaft position sensor had to be replaced...hope this helps.

OBD II Code P1756.

Could be a bad sensor, but it's transmission related. Anything affecting internal trans pressures should be taken care of by a reputable trans shop.
