My 2003 v6 camry recently overheated. Both alternator belt and 2nd belt recently replaced. No evidence of losing coolant. No change in oil appearance. Replaced coolant reservoir and let idle to operating temperature. Driver side fan only engaged once a/c turned on. What is the correct operation of the fan motors? Expected to see both turn on at the same time which may explain the overheating. Approximately 217k.

Both fans do not turn on at the same time. one fan is for the AC condensor and the other is for the radiator. A/C turns on one fan, Radiator temp switch turns on the other one. If you have never replaced the thermostat, or done a radiator flush/refill, you should do one now.

2004 Pontiac Grand Prix V6. Car keeps overheating, I lose power steering when I go through puddles. Coolant is full now the coolant failure light lit up and temp went to red What's causing this?

You will lose steering of the belt slips on the pulley for the steering pump. Replace the serpentine belt, or use a belt conditioner spray.

This is likely the reason for the overheating, but can also be a coolant temperature sensor or the fans not working. Even a water pump failure.

Why does oil look milky, not like coffee, kinda dark and thinck?

It definitely sounds like there is moisture in your oil. How long has it been since the oil was changed? Has the car sat very long? Has it overheated?

98 Toyota camry temp guage slow to rise but car feels if overheating.

The slow rising temp gauge points to a thermostat which has failed and stuck open. This is easy to replace.

At the same time the gauge will tell you if the car is overheating.

Is it losing coolant at all? A hot smell can result from leaking coolant getting on the exhaust manifold.

The smell can also result when leaking engine oil gets onto the exhaust. Camrys of that era had several characteristic oil leaks

- from the rear of the cam cover, especially on a V6
-from the distributor shaft o-ring
-from the oil filter-to-engine block mounting adapter (if fitted)

Said my water pump was leaking and I needed to replace it. Is that normal for a 2003 camry with 81,000 miles? Car was running fine. I took it in for an oil change and fuel cleaning. Ended up costing me...

A lot of It depends on the condition of your coolant. or the percentage of coolant vs water.
50/50 is best. Too much coolant wont cool as good. Too much water and the lubrication and protection is lost. Then the waterpump goes out from lack of lubrication.
The water pump can also go out from the driving belt being too tight. Whether it is driven from the timing belt or a serpentine belt or a V belt.

Replace alternator belt only for 1993 toyota camry

loosen the mounting bolts on the alternator, remove the old belt, replace with the new belt, slightly tighten the top mounting bolt, pull the alternator up until the belt is tight or if there is an adjustment bolt, crank down until tight (shouldn't bow more than 1"), and tigten other hardware.

When to replace timing chain on 2003 Camry V6?

Replace the timing belt at 90,000 miles.

It will not damage the motor (bend the valves) if it breaks or jumps time

Finally, if you do change the belt, make sure that the water pump is inspected very close for any evidence of coolant seepage at the impeller shaft weep hole. If there is ANY evidence of wetness or leakage, replace the pump then. Easier to change the pump when the belt is off, than to have to do the whole job if the leak gets worse, and, if it leaks down the road, coolant on the timing belt will damage the belt, and you will have to buy a new belt, too. Change the plugs at 90 K miles, too.
