If all lugs are tight then you have a wheel bearing that is bad. you jack up the car support it by stands on fram and take a long pice of wood and put it under the tire and to the ground pry up ward then with presure try to move the wheel with you hands if you can move it like all over then thats the bearing that is bad. if you dont have a long board you can put one hand one top edge and one on lower edge of tiere and try rocking it, if it rocks aound then you know that vbearing is bad. hope this helps you

first swap to a front tyre to eliminate that issue

new bearing shouldn't be rumbling
to get the bearing square on and home
did you use a press to fit the bearing to the rear axle
or tube method ?

and did the seal kit have this nifty plastic seal fitter so axle didn;t rip the seal surface

What is the problem if the car viberates

There are several problems associated with vibration, the most common being tire problems. If your tires are not properly balanced or are improperly inflated you will get a vibration, especially at higher speeds. If the vibration lessens or stops at lower speed, this is the likely cause and the least expensive to fix. If your tires need balancing be sure to have them dynamically balanced. This method mounts the tires on a special machine which spins the wheel at highway speed and determines accurately where the balancing is needed. The least accurate balancing method (static balancing) is not very accurate and may not fix the problem.
If your car tends to pull to the left or right when you apply the brakes, the problem may be due the front end being out of alignment. You can have a mechanic check the alignment and make necessary adjustments for about $50.

What is the tire size for a 1995 Mercury Marquis?

On Firestone's site it says for a 1995 Grand Marquis with the handling package, the tire size is P225/60R16 with or without the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system).

For a 1995 Grand Marquis GS/LS with or without TPMS it says the tire size is P215/70R15.

The page I entered in the info is here:

Hope this helps.

Why does it shake down the highway?

most likely a either a tire is out of balance, or the driveshaft is. Check the tires for bubbles then have them all balanced. If the problem is still there then it might be time to find another driveshaft or try to have yours repaired (expensive)
