You did not specifiy which engine your Jeep has. Given your description, the engine likely has a "waste spark" ignition system. That means one coil is used to fire two cylinders. Likely the spark coil that provides spark for cylinders 1 and 4 is defective. Better to replace all of them rather than wait for the next one to fail. It is a good idea to replace the sparks plugs at the same time, and the plug wires, too. That way your engine will perform better and you won't have to fret about its ignition system for along time.
1st, replace your spark plugs(for gasoline engine) or heater plugs (for diesel engines)
if this does not work, have a mechanic check the timing of your engine. Engine timing is checked in the distributor, camshaft, and crankshaft.
