My radio won’t turn on. My door ajar light WONT illuminate. Neither will the map lights, heater. Please help

The problem is that even if you replace fuse #2 and fuse #8 in the engine compartment, possibly restoring map lights, air conditioning, heater and radio, it is very likely some component is busted and drawing too much power through the fuses. It is possible that the bearings in the heater need oiling finally drying out after 10 years That fuse #2 handles multiple power on functions and if it is blown, you have to round up the usual suspects, i. e. test further to see just which component has truly failed..

SUBARU OUTBACK CLIMATE CONTROL PANELS

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that the positive battery connector must be disconnected. Let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. This will reset the system and can get it back to it's normal operation. If the problem still persists then the problem will surely be on the PCM (powertrain control module). The PCM has connectivity on all electrical accessories inside the car, it can be faulty that's why this issue occured. It must be replaced to correct the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Mike, I have a Subaru Tribeca B9. THe passenger side blows cold air and drivers is hot.

Chlorine in factory coolant has caused corrosion and damaged the heater core (there was a recall on this WWY-09 which my subaru dealer denied!) flushing wont help. Heater core needs to be replaced.

I need to know what size gap my spark plugs need to be for my 1978 subaru standard

'standard' as in a stick shift, not automatic? That is not a model and has nothing to do with the spark plug gap. The search query for this would simply be year make model spark plug gap and you will find something like this which says 32 thou.

CEL light, cruise control and brake light blinking and traction control light (codes P2096 and C0057)

I have seen this happen with dirty or loose connection ether at or around the battery and also the connection at the under hood fuse block itself . Sometimes its the connections under the fuse block. Check them all , and while its apart apply some dielectric grease to each connection, If you can find the connection to the ABS pump I would start there. The ABS is part of traction and stability control . Disconnect the battery before unplugging anything tho .

I put the wrong octane in my '08 wrx sti

all impreza recommends high ROM.although 99ron or 100ron is recommended, some uses unleaded for non-turbo and of course notice a sligth defference in performance using high ROM fuel.in your case is the reverse, means does't need to drain for a change.

Hazard lights won't turn off. Disconnected battery

I see this is an old question, but I'll answer it because I ran into it myself - after hooking the battery up again, hold down the lock button on your little lock/unlock remote. If that doesn't work, hold down the unlock button. I always forget and end up doing one and then the other. In any case, it resets and the hazards should stop flashing!
