i'd get the OBD codes read as will point to the switch/sensor at fault , i would guess at crank sensor but get the codes read to be sure

You need to 1. check your owners manual,2. ask the dealership's shop, or 3. get a repair manual. Some take 90 weight oil, some 50, and my last one used ATF. So get the right stuff, or you'll have really expensive repairs.

The cable pulls a spring loaded latch typically located at the center-front location of the car hood. It may be possible to push the latch at this location with a knife thin tool. Otherwise, you will need to look from under the car to see if you can see the mechanism. Then you may be able to use a long rod or piece of wood to push it or pry it to release.
