How to remove a Scion XA 2006 alternator
2005 Scion XA Alternator Removal. Left front side of Engine, 2 12MM blots on the bracket, remove, one 14MM bolt below above the pulley. Get this loose and remove. It is a pain. Then pivot the alternator all the way forward. Screw the bolt in the RIGHT side so we can pull in the sleeve that is holding the BEAST. Using a Small Pry Bar, slowly and carefully put on Pressure forcing the Bolt to the RIGHT to pull in the Sleeve so the alternator will release. It took a few tries but I got it out. Getting the Bolt back in the slot seems to be the next challenge!!. Good Luck.
Hazards won't shut off 2005 scion xb
Do you mean they are on but don't flash or they are flashing continuously and won't turn off at the switch? On and not flashing suggests a faulty relay and flashing continuously is most likely a faulty dashboard button. You will need to remove the button to test it.
Sadly on modern cars this often involves stripping out most of the centre console just to get to it. If you can afford to do it pay a mechanic or a body shop to do it. They will be able to do it more quickly and you don't get the hassle and headache of wasting 3 days trying to figure it out.
How do I get the bottom bolt out of alternator for
There is a bolt on the bottom of the alt that holds it.
You should be able to use a 3/8" or 1/2" ratchet with a 12mm socket. (I only felt it, so I am guessing)
But 12mm seems to be a very common size for Scion and Toyota in general.
The bolt goes through two ears (or lobes) that are part of the engine block. The lobes are on either side of a "tunnel" that is part of the alt's housing. If it is too difficult, try shooting some penetrating oil into the back, where the threads are set into the lobe on the block.
Careful not to spray any into the alt itself.
No brakes/pressure
Did you replace the lines when doing all the work, the lines are the cheapest part of it all
Tire pressure light comes on
You shouldn't be setting the tire pressure to the max inflation pressure listed on the sidewall, that will likely result in uneven tire wear with the center of the tire wearing out prematurely. You should set the pressures according to the listings in the door jam. Most likely 32-34psi. Also, have you checked the spare tire? Some systems monitor and will illuminate the TPMS light if the spare tire pressure isn't within an acceptable range. The spare is often overlooked when checking tire pressures because of a TPMS indicator.
