Tip & How-To about Jeep Grand Cherokee

Door locks or windows not working at times.

Alot of older cars and even some newwer cars and truck, you may find that door locks or windows work sometimes and not other times and they may not work at all. i've found that many of them are not working due to a broken wire or two in the wiring coming inside the door where the door hinges are located, in side the rubber boot, pull boot back from rear and front one at a time and take a good look at the wiring , make sure there are no broken wires, these wires sometimes break in half from the door opening and closing so many times, if you find a broken wire it can be repaired by adding a small peice and crimping them back together. this happens to alot of makes and models, like jeep, chrysler and gm,

need help with auto-locks!

When you get the doors unlocked, simply unplug the lock servos (motors) inside the door panels. The locks will still work manually and with the key. If they don't work with the key, then remove the linkage from the servo, to isolate the power lock function from the lock mechanism. Test the key while the door panels are off to avoid having to take them off twice to remove the linkage

I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. The fob key works but locks only 3 doors (passenger and 2 back doors) but not the driver side door. Any idea on the problem?

it could be the power door lock motor on that door or the lock motor is not getting the signal from the module.some times the wires that run between the car body and the door break and need repairing.these are covered by a rubber tube that is fastened one end to the body the other to the door, you can see it with the door open.

My power locks won't work on either side and sometimes I can't even lock them manually. The power windows work fine and its not the fuse

sounds like you have a sticky actuator they are most often located inside the lower part of the door remove the clip and try the lock manualy
