Tip & How-To about Cars & Trucks

Give new life to your old wiper blades.

First, clean the old wiper (rubber) blade with soap and water. Use a cloth to remove all dirt off the blade( the cloth will have dirt marks). once this is done, let the blades dry. Once the blades are dry, spray some WD 40 on to a paper towel and gently swipe the rubber part of the blade. This will give a nice shine to the blade as well. let the blade dry for a few minutes and then they are ready for use.

Yeah Brother, makes no diff what make the vehicle is, when the knuckle on the wiper arm is warn, and they all do, it will make the wiper blades jump like that when in use. You're only recourse is to buy new wiper arms for your toy. They won't do that any more, or till the new ones are warn.

how to remove and replace the wiper blades on an 06 Murano

Me again. After looking at the blade for 15 minutes or so I did the following. Remove the wiper blade from vehicle (makes it easier to work on). There is a little tab under the blade near the end of the wiper blade arm. Press it and slide/pull the wiper blade toward you. Now when you look at the wiper it seems like its a sealed unit. Check the ends and you will see the rubber is flexibe enough to allow you to slid the "wiper" out ot the blade. You can get the replacement refill (the wiper) or a replacement wiper blade (the whole unit) from the Nissan dealer. Take the refill and slide into the blade assembly. Take your time. You might have to straighten the blade a little so that the refile lines up with the holding tabs in the blade. Looks impossible, but once you've done it you'll be surprised how simple it was to do......****

Remove wiper blade

Do you mean the wiper blade or the wiper arm?

The wiper blade should have a small tab or lever on the underside of the hinge where it attaches to the arm. Use a small screwdriver or a pick (etc..) to gently pry the lever upwards to pull the locking tab out of its corresponding hole on the wiper arm. Once the tab is up, firmly grasp the wiper blade and pull towards the base of the wiper arm. Sometimes they stick a little, just be careful not to bend the wiper arm.
If you are looking to remove the wiper arm, remove the plastic cap at the base of the wiper arm to gain access to the nut below. Using either a 13mm (1/2 inch) or 15mm socket (depending on the model) remove the nut by turning counter-clockwise. Once the nut is off, place your hand in the middle portion of the wiper arm and firmly push downward, being careful not to bend the arm. What you are trying to do is rock the arm off of the wiper motor stud. Be sure to mark where the wiper blade rests on the windshield before removing it, so you can reassemble it in the same spot when you put it back together. Use a grease pencil or something else that you can clean off later.
Hope this helps!
