just test drove car with 80,000 miles on it. Seems sluggish to go from a stop. Otherwise, shifts great. A common Volvo thing (never drove one before) or possible transmission issue? Thanks

check the colour of the transmission oil --it should be bright colour and not smell burnt
run the fault codes as it may be engine sensor problems or TCM problems
Unless the timing belt has been changed ,it is 20.000 miles overdue for a belt change ( big money repair)
( volvos s60 --30.l,s80/t63.0l/3.2l, v703.2l, xc60/t63.0l/3.2l,xc70/t63.0l/3.2l, xc90 3.2l) all run timing chains
Have an independent inspector check the vehicle over
