ok check all fuses yet?
check levels, by the book, dont guess? method..
the shift lever moves a cable that cable moves the manual valve on the side of the box. and must go to Drive to leave P/N
does it? it must move to the right spot there.
does it? yes.
then do a line pressure test, on the box. (FSM book cover that)
or get car fixed.
read chapter 21 here 42RE ,under line tests.?
check the fluid. with it running and the wheels block or a friend in the jeep put it into N. make sure your on level serface and put the trans dip stick for the oil level. in may very well be low on oil.
You can't put the transfercase in nuetral the car won't move its prolly a all time 4-wheel drive if there isn't a 2-wheel sign on the gear shifer then it's a all the time 4- wheel drive
