seems , but can not understand that post lacking periods. the booster is cracked and sucking vaccum to the engine .. the brake poster is vacuum powered but must not leak if does leak the causes and illegall air flow to the engine main air supply and causes engines to race fast RPM at idle. now you know why. even the hose to it can be bad or fell off. but i bet the booster diaphragm inside is cracked. the service manual shows the leak down test on boosters all do .and if it leaks it is bad. end story.

Easy to check it out, just get some premium gas and see if problem goes away, it's not going to ruin your finances.

it seems to me that it was flooded so it had too much gas left in the dash pot don't press the gas at all when starting because as soon as you turn on the key the fuel pump will send the right amount of fuel you need to your system keep track of it and if it continues to do this check your fuel pump

YOU GOT IT. I'm sure the oil pressure went low when the car was on ramps causing a CE light. The louder noise poss wrong belt or exhaust leak!?

Dos it immediately restart? Does this only happen when first started cold?

Open the filler plug on the side of the transmission if oil flows out there is enough in it. If not top it up until it flows. Regards Jim...

The first thing to do for your dash lights is to verify the fuses, if ok check your lights dimmer next. Sometimes, dimmers fail to provide good contact due to wear or poor filament contact. Otherwise, there is a poor connection somewhere. Usually, a rapidly blinking turn signal is due to a burnt bulb on the side in question or a bad ground connection either in the front or the back of the vehicle. Turn the left signal on and check if front and back turn lights are on and working if one doesn't work check the bulb. If it is poorly lit and not blinking check the socket and ground connection. well , as with all discs, old player will NOT play all CDs. not even close. first ask an old guy for CDDA disk or buy one from walfart. then try that, only these disks work in all players. other disks may or will not work. like DVD-R, CD-R and any other recordable disks will fail. that is the acid test, if the CDDA disk works (real audio disk) works then the drive is ok, if not, its bad. simple as apple pie.

run the fault codes to find the problem . Guessing and changing items just costs money and becomes frustrating. With the engine light on it could be more serious than plugs and coil

Have you looked at your oil fill cap? It should tell you what type of oil to use. I have a 2002 Echo 1.5l and mine says 5w-30. I also have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe and it has a Toyota engine 1.8l that is slightly bigger than the 1.5lmotor in our Echo and it also takes 5w-30. I think you would be safe using 5w-30; however, I would look at your oil fill cap.

Like all front-drive cars using CV joints, there are 4 CV joints on the car near the engine. The vehicle has 2 axles (left and right, driving the corresponding front wheel). Each axle has 2 joints, one on each end. Typically the outer CV joints fail first, as their range of movement is greater due to steering the vehicle. In modern practice the entire left or right axle is replaced when a CV joint goes bad. Constant Velocity joints and U-joints perform a similar function, but are not really the same thing. U-joints are more typically used on rear-drive or truck-based 4WD vehicles.

When it doesn't start after shutting it off can you still hear the fuel pump come on? The best way to tell is to take the gas cap off and put your ear next to the filler neck while someone turns the key to the on position. If you don't hear it, it may be time for a new one.
