2002 Toyota Echo: Left turn signal in front blinks

If the left turn signal blinks fast and the rear one does not light up (working in a dealership i see this All the time) almost always it is dew to one of the other bulbs that is burned out. in your case the LF one works fast and the LR one is out. You say you already replaced the bulb- but i would recheck that area again-make sure the bulb you installed was the correct one- it should most likely be a 3157 or 1157 bulb- but i dont know off hand it may be a 3156 or a 1156 bulb. If it is the right bulb make sure it is not blown itself.- make sure you did not accidently install the bulb backwards. finally check the socket- make sure it is free from corrosion and make sure the metal is making contact with the bulb. I hope this works. check if there is power ond ground going to the socket if not with a test light to make sure you dont have a broken wire. This failure will not be caused by a blown fuse.

Hi i have a 2002 toyota echo the passenger side

top up all of your fluid levels and run car at medium range of revs for up to 5 minutes. check if any fluids have dropped significantly. if i guessed at any it would be your brake fluid so take EXTREME caution as this will cause extremely unreliable and unresponsive brakes. it is also a corrosive a flamible liquid. however, if it isnt this check under the carpet of your car for a whole in the floor, or anyother places outside fluids could seep in around that area.

When should the timing belt be replaced

Hi

The Toyota Echo does not have a timing belt - its a timing chain. As such - provided the correct service schedule is followed a chain is expected to last the life of the engine and does not normally need to be renewed. There is no prescribed renewal interval for the timing chain on these engines.

Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer. Many Thanks.

When I replace the left front control arm should I

Yes because caster/camber and Toe can all be affected when you replace a steering or suspension part , also you have disturbed their location during the removal and replacement process, we are talking very small measurements but they are critical for good tire wear and vehicle handling .

How do i adjust the raer drums on a 02 toyota echo

If you have not had your drums machined, take a rasp file and remove as much of the rust lip that forms where the drum meets the backing plate, without damaging the brake contact surface. Turn the adjustment for the brake shoes (usually a star wheel) till the drum just goes over the shoes but does not drag a lot when turned. Press down on brake pedal after you have both drums on, to re-position the shoes properly. If either drum becomes very loose, make another adjustment. (Your brakes are self-adjusting and will take up necessary slack during normal driving.) I've used this method many times and most times you will get a fairly normal pedal immediately and will not even notice any further adjustments the system makes. If at any point, you have opened the hydraulic system, you need to finish the job by bleeding. If not, just check fluid level and you are ready to go!!
Good Luck!!

The problen is: The speedometer goes up and then down.

If the guage section of the instrument panel is not getting a solid connection to 12V power, then this will happen. I had a similar experience with a shorted connection that caused the fuse to blow that supplied power to the speedometer. When power was restored to the speedo, it read normally.

The dash lights are on a separate circuit, so they will continue to light up even if speedo power is bad.

Accessing the guage cluster is extremely easy on thes cars. You can quickly pull it out to re-seat the electrical connections. Should you find that you need a new cluster, I believe that the odometer readings are stored in the cluster and will cause your odometer to be wrong.

Malfunction indicator lamp is on

i had same problem .. the echo depends on a good seal for the gas cap .. it draws a slight vacuum (or maybe pressure) to test the seal .. if it cant develop the vacuum then it sets the alarm light .... in my case a small crack in the rubber seal of the gas cap caused the problem .. a new gas cap resolved it .. it takes a while to clear the code .. maybe a few starts .. its also a good idea to clean up the mouth of the gas filler tube ..if its rusty or dirty then you cant get a good seal .. wd40 does a nice job of cleaning .. the new gas cap was only a few dollars at advanced auto but lacks the teather strap

the diagnostic scan at autozone does not narrow it down .. it just indicates something like "faulty polution control device" .. or maybe it was an even more generic term .. cant remember ..but not much help ..

in other cars (caravan) the oxygen sensor frequently seems to be the cause of the alarm.. .. the scanner does flag that ..
