The idle issue is normal. The idle is controlled by the ECU. There are no adjustments for the idle. Regarding the knocking noise, that could be several things, and I am hesitant to comment without hearing it. Take it to a Toyota Dealer & have a tech listen to it. We are very good at identifying noises on the service drive.

Is the check engine light on? Check your trouble codes. PO171 would indicate a leaky intake manifold gasket. The gasket between the throttle body and the manifold is also a known issue on these engines. Did u ever figure it out ? Mine are doing same thing only work during the day and shut off when I turn lights on and don't work at night. I've changed all fuses and relays, still doing the same thing. I'm hoping it's not wiring issue

The most common cause is something inside the glove box jammed in the latch. Push glove box door release , and GENTLY insert a flat putty knife, plastic knife, or similar type tool in the groove of door, GENTLY try to pry open the door. U will probably (hopefully) find a napkin, map, or glove (does anybody actually put gloves in the glove box?) jammed in the inside latch. Let me know how u make out.

No , it is not a problem. There will be no fire. Just crack your window open just a bit but fix it as soon as you can. Did a mechanic fix it then told you that the front pipe fell off due to rusted bolts? If they broke it, they have to fix it. And they cannot charge you for it either. It wouldn't have fallen if they had done the job right and replaced those bolts before releasing the car back to you.

P0440 EVAP mulfunction , EVAP valve or hoses leak

You may have popped the park brake cable out of the backing plate causing brake parts to become loose. Have the brakes looked at soon.
