Check the shifter cable at the transmission side and see tf the pivot on the transmission is not rusted and is not difficult to move, take your vehicle and shift to neutral, now turn it off, put on parking brake or block wheels so you don't run yourself over now you can feel the shift link on the transmission, lube it up as it may not be going in fully and causing to slip out, good luck..

Truck misses when first started
Sounds like you have a blown or seeping head gasket on one cylinder. You need to take it in and have it checked. You could also check your coolant level when truck is cool. You will need to remove the radiator cap to check properly. DO NOT REMOVE CAP WHEN HOT!!!! You could also pull the sparkplugs and see if one is wet after it sits for some time.
Coolant leak from the engine warmer
Some have a center set screw that you loosen then remove assembly, others are tapped in like a conventional freeze out plug. Once removed, clean and lightly sand mating surface and install replacement piece.

Brake lights don't work, dash lights come on when
brake lights operate off a simple switch mounted to the bracket of the brake peddle. that switch can easily have a wire pulled out, the switch it self dies from use. a fuse in the fuse box in the lower part of the could be blow. as far as the cruise going off when headlights are turned on, could be the switch on the column itself is worn out. remember your girl is a teenager now, they give you the most random problems. (girl being the truck)
No electric current on spark plug
have the codes read, determine if the coils are shot, the crank sensor is shot, and the less likely and most costly repair would be the ECM is shot. after you have the codes read (for free at local parts shop) you can fix the problem
