Color of wires
Hi Red, Sorry to tell you this pal, but the Toyota's we have worked on do not have a colour coding format for most of the wiring loom. A cable which is loomed from the speed sensor can be one colour going in and another colour coming out because Toyota join cables of any colour, presumably for cost effectiveness. The cable can be identified from the pin number inside the management computer, or by downloading a pin out diagram from <www.allpinouts.com> Regards John.

I. Want to know what color of wire goes in the alternator for 1996 rav4
Hi there:It might be different on a RAV4, but here's a description of that connector from a 2.0L engine:"S" (Pin 3, white wire) - Sense line. It will eventually make its way back to the battery through several fuses. If this line is bad (corrosion, broken wire, blown ALT-S fuse), the alternator will overcharge, trying to compensate since it is not sensing enough voltage. Disconnect the battery, and check for continuity of this pin to the positive battery terminal and the alternator terminal. Both should be very close to 0 ohms."IG" (Pin 2, red-blue wire) - Supplies power for the regulator from the Gauge fuse. Should be 0V when the car is shut off, 13-15V when turned on."L" (Pin 1, yellow wire) - Goes to the charge warning light.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.
