I just purchased the little beauty and I'm trying to get things working on it. Major issue is odometers aren't working and the backup lights are out. Need "how to's" for both.

Is the odometer digital? (does it display numbers on a screen?) If so, check the fuses, assuming you haven't already. Same thing for the backup lights. And, believe it or not, they could both be on the same fuse. Fuses are usually by your left knee while driving. There might also be some under the hood, usually in front of the driver, but not always.

1996 Toyota Avalon turn signals don't work, but hazards do?

Turn signals and hazard lights are 2 totally different switches. You basically verified that the flasher unit works, but the turn signal switch is broken.

Activate my cd player for my 1996Tyota Avalon

posted like 1million time world wide, I lost my code. and answered here 100s now. (searches do work) If you lost your Radio memory (it's bricked asking for CODE?) or the NAV is bricked. There are only 3-4 choices.
  1. The dealer (walk in , tow in, or drive in or if really lucky, call them or use their web site, to ask, but most dealers say, you must walk/drive- in.) {carry radio in? and have car registration handy and VIN}
  2. Any lock Smith that does cars and has license to do this , and some do house calls. (no way is this free, it's $80 here.)
  3. or do the same thing, online (see next link) a near $30 charge.
  4. Some brands of car (say FORD, google for YOURS) have forum's, that have software that cracks, these encryption codes, (keygens) or join and beg.... Here is one example (good luck, not getting a VIRUS with GENS)
Online radio codes, are just a Google search away, see the 22 million hits at Google or go here is one site.

Why or what are posiabilitys for raideator hoses calapsingon 1996toyta avlon

radiator hoses are know to collapse especially the bottom hose when the radiator cores become blocked or the spring in the hose rusts away and no longer supports the hose. Hoses should be replaced when they are larger than the hose clip holding them on as this an indication of the binding fabric in the rubber is rotting away and no longer doing the job.

TOYOTA AVALON 1995

Believe it or not. The alternator can cause these problems to manifest as well. Do you have good braking? If you seem to have good braking then I'd go to an Autozone and have them place a battery tester on your car. A low alternator output can cause problems in ABS systems.

I broke off the bolt that tightens the serpentine belt on my 96 avalon! i need a replacement what size is it??

Your first problem is to extract the bolt. For that, you will need an extraction tool. I got mine at NAPA. Once you have the bolt out, you can measure the size and pitch.

Remove aftermarket car anti-theft system

If it is an aftermarket alarm system it is tied into your starter circuit coming off of your ignition switch. You need to remove plastic covers under steering wheel on toyota vehicles it is phillips head screws and some 10mm bolts. Find alarm system this is tricky but possible find the wire that is tapped into a thick wire leading up to steering column to the key ignition switch it should be a thicker wire sometimes red in color that wire is the starter interupt for the alarm system remove that wire (cut it) at alarm side and starter function should be restored. IF IT IS AN AFTERMARKET SYSTEM hope this helps
