My doors will not lock

Window fuse's and relay's may be up under driver or passenger side dash or behind glove box, under the hood and even under the seats, and finally on the ends of the dash.
Drivers door window switch gets used the most so it could be the motor, window switch, relay or fuse.
Could also be a broken wire in the rubber boot going from the door to the body. Actually, there may be a circuit breaker type relay for each window and one fuse for all the circuit breakers.
If all has failed, remove drivers door panel, or the switch may "pop out" of the arm rest. Check for voltage coming to the main window switch connector. If no voltage, problem lies somewhere between door and power source. If voltage is present, but no voltage(when pressing switch) at drivers door window motor means its the switch, especially if its a auto down or up switch. You may also find that the connector has simply come loose from the master window control. Good luck!!

Left front power window doesn't

Typically window regulators go out on these vehicles. You would have to remove the door panels to access the regulator or motor.

My trunk wont open by

Hi Sparklen,You'll need to look at the end of the cable close to the release lever and pull the broken cable with pliers, that should do the job. Once open, trace the routing and replace the cable. Regards Johngee10

How to remove the rear seat on 96 toyota avalon to

You do need to have a spring compressor. Get the McPherson spring compressor. It is a must. You can rent them at O'reillys auto parts, Kragen, maybe Auto Zone. To get a better understanding on how to change it out, I recommend a chilton 95-97 Camary Manual. Now I can't remember the exact tools you need but the ones I can remember are 22mm socket, 14mm socket, 12mm socket, for the 2 large stubborn bolts I had to impact drill them, and with that 12mm socket don't forget to take the brake line off the strut. When you jack up the car try using its stock jack stand if you dont want to bend the running bars underneath where you jack it up as the car is a unibody jacking it up too high will lift the cars whole side and you only need to jack it enough to take the tire off. The back struts require you to take out your back seat which are also easy to take out.

To remove the rear seat here a link, its on a 2000 but should be generally the same. I learn better with pictures anyway, hope this helps!

Where would i find a repair manual for a 1996

If you just want a basic repair manual then your local Auto Parts store should have what your looking for. Chiltons and Haynes both make manuals and you can order them on-line also. If you want the smae factory service manuals that the dealer would have then you need to go the link below. They are not cheap:

One morning, I can't start my avalon. I see

Before you start replacing the starter, do some simple troubleshooting so that you don't waste your money. What happens when you try to jump start the car? Have you tried charging the battery to see if it was low? Have you had your alternator checked and made sure it is putting out amperage to the battery?

Start out with the jump start, and make sure you note anything out of the ordinary, like lights on both vehicles bogging down, or that your engine did not turn over.

If the engine did not turn over but you heard the clicking from the starter, then disconnect your serpentine belt and see if you can turn the engine with a large socket wrench. If you can, then it is could be your starter. If you can't turn your engine by hand then the problem is intenal to your engine and not in the starter system.

Where is the starter on a 96 Avalon? Can tapping

If you are looking at the motor from the front, the starter is on the right, about mid-way down the block. I dont know if you are handy att at all with tools, but replacing it is very simple. I am no mechanic and I was able to replace it in the parking lot of a store. All you need is a ratchet set. Get a picture of what a starter looks like, locate it, then unbolt it. Get someone to drive you to an Autozone, Pepboys, Etc...They should have one for (I believe) 140. Just literally slide it back into the slot and rebolt it. It is much easier than you might imagine and much cheaper than Toyota.

Car wont turn over. Getting

Try this have someone take a hammer and tap on the side of the starter while someone holds key to start position. If it kicks over then the bendix is bad in the starter and you'll need to replace it.If it still does nothing its probably the solenoid on the starter. Also voltage at the solenoid on switch side ( should be the purple wire ) you should have 12-12.6 volts. If you don't check for power at ignition switch. Its not hard to replace just make sure you take ground off battery.Usually 2 bolts and 2 wires power cable and switch wire.
