speedometer works intermitently

It could be the filter, but it could also be the fuel pump.

If you have eliminated as a cause:-- silted up radiator- fans not running (if they are running the temp sender is OK)- leaky head gasket putting gasses into the water jacket- radiator hose going soft and closing upthen that leaves the thermostat being stuck closed. Also if the coolant is disappearing this may still be a hidden leak. The V6 has a joint under the inlet manifold which is prone to leaking coolant, and on a hot motor the water disappears quickly.

timing belt on camry can look good but stil bad (theet missing). please ck the distributor coil pick up coil and modulator inside of distrobutor 99% of toyotas have coil ,pickup coil and module probleme when the car reaches 100 milles also ck the plugs cnnection on the distributor itself

The pick up coil is in the dist .the rotor under the rotor has a pick up star that passes by the pick and send spark to plugs but just be sure you have current at the coil if not it comes from the ingniter but you schould start at the beginning like clean the battery post -1st then ck current going to coil -also there is two fuses to ck for ing after that see if you can hear fuel pump back at the tank if you can hear pump ck the spark plugs and see if your getting a spark from them great start let me know also whemyou looking at dist make sure the main coil not cracked they heat p and crack please let me know

It sounds like your vehicle needs a major tune-up. Try putting in some fuel injector cleaner gas additive and a new air intake filter.

The pistons will hit the valves on a lot of cars, but you should ask your Toyota dealer service dept for sure. Hope this helps.

This is most likely the crank sensor. It could be the coil pack or the fuel pump.

There are three other area's that can leak, here they are in order of how often they occur
1.Engine Valve cover gasket(s) (2 if V6 engine), oil runs down the engine and drips off the pan.
2.Rear crankshaft seal leaking
3.Front crankshaft seal leaking. Oil is blown back by air pressure while driving and rips off of pan.

Did you top up the oil? some cars will shut down when the oil light comes on it usualy turns off the fuel pump and is a safey design of the car to stop the engine in a roll over situation and can also save your engine if it runs low on oil.

Recheck the gasket it must have moved out of place.

Access behind the bumper the wires lead you right to the light socket. The problem is theses bulb sockets corrode. Replacement sockets have to be purchased and wired in. They can cost $6.99 all the way to $39.99. I purchase two for under $20 at a local auto store. I used a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing with a heat gun to repair mine - they already outlasted the original sockets lifetime. They do sell some kits that pierce the wire avoiding soldering and heat shrink tubing BUT if you live anywhere up North where it snows or down South near the salt air from the beach - the wires will corrode where pierced.
