1992 Toyota Land Cruiser - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Ringing sound on a Toyota Land Cruiser SX 2L Turbo 1991 Model
noise producers on vehicles include the worn brake pad indicator that rubs on the disc when the pads are dangerously low , loose seal shields on the diff pinions , tail shaft noise from failing bearings , "U" joints , center bearing supports and shields for that bearing touching the support bracket from failed bearing rubber mount
if is only heard when moving ,what I am suggesting that everything that turns has to be carefully inspected
for example a bit of rock stuck between the diff flange seal shield and the diff housing will create a noise that is amplified by the tail shaft
Upsizeing motor

NO SPARK WONT START
If you have no spark, try removing one of the spark plug wires from a plug, then put an old plug into the wire and ground it on the engine, then crank it over and watch the plug for spark. Still if you have no spark, you have to replace the spark plugs else you have to check the fuel pressure, or you may have a bad fuel pump.

1992 Land cruiser will not shift into drive
Does it have manual locking front hubs? Some people fit these to full time four wheel drive vehicles to reduce driveline effort and increase fuel efficiency. The issue is that the drive from the transfer case will find the path of least resistance which if the front hubs are not locked power will be sent through the front diff and only spin the front drive shafts. To ensure drive power is sent to the rear diff the centre diff needs to be locked. If you do have manual locking front hubs try putting them in the locked position and leave the centre diff button off and try going for a drive.
I have a 1993 Land
The first one is caused either by a faulty contact in the command lever switch for the lights or a short in the wiring leading to it. Since this happens only after the truck has been run for a while makes the second cause more likely: the current passing thru the wiring there makes the metal pins of the contacts expand and make contact when they shouldn't. The steering shaft will have to be dismantled and the switches and their wiring tested.
The second problem is unrelated - the starter motor has bad contacts in the solenoid so when you turn the key the solenoid gets activated but the motor doesn't. You will need to replace the starter.
92 Landcruiser not getting elecricity to fuel
Try replacing the EFI (Electronic Fuel Ignition) relay. I just replaced mine and it solved the problem. The relay is under the hood along the left side of the engine above the wheel well. The black box shows EFI on top of it. It is the front/right relay (from a driver's perspective). Relay is less than $25 bucks at your local auto part store. The part number is Toyota M4 90987-02004. Be aware that there maybe other underlying problems which are causing the relay to fail.
Valve clearence
FUEL INJECTOR VALVE CLEARANCE
manufacturer decided they wanted a unique system of fuel injection, at least different then that of most systems. The control valve may act up and not allow fuel to inject at intervals. Instead, it may take be clogged with debri, gunk, and other trash which needs to be serviced in a shop to be repaired. One very common activity with your fuel injector is it may cause the valve to stay closed and burn gas in a manner that is inconsistent with normal gas usage, the vehicle will start to blow out black and dark smoke out the rear end, trick your cars oxygen sensor, and allow the system to burn a larger amount of fuel for the same mileage. This problem needs to be solved in a shop where the equipment is available to make adjustments and flush out your system.
