1991 Toyota Camry - Page 9 Questions & Answers
1991 camry wont start
Maybe. You'll need to check all of the fuses to find out. You may need a test light or meter to check them correctly.
What will cause a blow back
there will be,if it shoots the cap off while you are unscrewing it then you might have an issue, but oil will come out with car running and cap off
Where is intake, mafsensor, iac valve, andthe idle stabilizer valve located
Assuming it is a 4-cyl, the intake is the large tube connecting the air cleaner housing to the intake manifold, which is the metal body behind and above the top of the engine. See here, p2, p40. p168
http://www.turboninjas.com/camry/eg1.pdfThe Mass Air Flow sensor if fitted (not all Camrys had one that early) is fitted in the air intake just after the air cleaner and before the throttle body.If you mean the Manifold Air Pressure sensor (different) that sits on the firewall flange behind the intake manifold. Follow the hose from the air intake chamber, p46The Idle Air Control Valve is on the throttle body, see p168 and p208.I don't know of an Idle Stabilizer Valve by that name on this engine, I think it is an alternative name for the IAC valve.
Electric windows do not work
First check the fuse and then check the window buttons. The driver side one will most likely go first. Easy to replace.
1991 toyota camry stiff steering no leaks, safe to drive?
No, it is not unfortunately. This may be an indication of impending total failure, and you can't really handle the car well in traffic. If the reservoir fluid level is OK, then the next thing to check is that the drive belt is tight enough to drive the steering pump. If that appears OK then either you have a fault inside the pump or steering rack valve, or there is something binding in the steering knuckle ball joints, and that will need a specialist.
Brake lights out
Hello
If your break lights are out, most likely it is not a bulb, because chances are slim that both would go out. And most likely it is not the connections where the break lights are because again, chances slim that both would go out same time. So, this brings us to fuse panel or the break relay. So, look in your owners manual it should tell you were your fuse panel is and what fuse is for the break lights. Most likely it would say break lights on the inside cover of the fuse box to tell you which fuse it is. Then if it is blown, you need to replace it with same amp fuse. I hope this helps, but I am pretty sure it is just a fuse. Thanks Mike
