How to remove ignition without keys
if you have a metal bit for your drill that's small enough to drill a hole into the middle of the key:
drill a hole into the center of they key. stick in something into the hole (preferably a rod of metal) with superglue on it and gently try to turn the ignition after it's properly dried.

My brake lights don't come on but brakes do work. hoq can I fix it?
Check fuse first. If ok the brake light switch maybe defective, its under the dash connected where your brake pedal mounts. should be a two wire switch. You can jump the wires to each other if brake lights light switch is defective. Also make sure that when you step on brakes that the plunger on the switch is being fully released. Sometimes its the adjustment not letting them work. Good luck.

Check engine light on 89 camry
It means there is a detected problem in engine control that has set a fault code.
The easiest way to deal with this is take it to a repair shop/dealership with the proper scanning equipment and they can extract the faulty code and perform the repair.
If you would like to try it yourself, if you can understand the following,m then get the codes and report back.
\Insert a jumper wire or paperclip between ports T1 and E1 in the diagnostic connector located underhood. ONLY those 2 ports.
When inserted with key on, the check engine light should begin flashing. If it does, it is working. If it doesnt, then you have the wrong pins or the system isnt in idle ground/code pulling condition. The throttle must be closed and the idle tracking switch showing CLOSED before the computer will start flashing codes.
If what I have just said makes NO SENSE, then you really should seek the help of an experienced technician. If what I just said gets you weird flashes, count them. when you 1st turn the key on, it will flash a nimber of times, then at some point a pause, then more flashes, then a longer pause and more flashes. The short flashes are to seperate digits, the long flashes are to seperate codes if there are more than 1. So for example --- pause -- long pause ---- pause ---- would be a code 32 (3 pause 2) and a 44 (4 pause 4).
If you can use that info, post results and maybe I can help. If not, having it checked by a professional may be a better choice.

Find a shop for repair
Find a good reputable auto body shop in your area or a shop that replaces or repairs automotive glass. They will be able to fix it and have the proper tools to do the job.
