1999 Toyota Camry - Page 9 Questions & Answers
CAR DIED WHILE DRIVING,will not restart ,crank shaft very hard to turn by hand with all belts off timing belt and timing marks are perfect.3.0l camry
Oooh, your timing belt is OK? and the engine is hard to turn? You may have suffered an engine seizure due to oil starvation. Some Toyota Camry engines around this year suffered bad sludging, leading to this. If you take the spark plugs out, place the trans in neutral, and the engine is still hard to turn at the crank pulley, oooh, I think it is partly seized, sorry.
If not, I think the timing belt jumped a tooth or 2 (if old), or the fuel supply dropped pressure, or the spark failed at the igniter.
Crank shaft very hard to turn by hand with belts off
Did you remove the spark plugs? If you're fighting the compression of the engine it'll be almost impossible to turn by hand. If what you're getting at is you think the engine is ceased, the temperature would probably have shot up while driving and the car would have become progressively more sluggish, requiring more and more accelerator pedal to maintain speed, until it died.
Crank shaft vry hard to turn by hand with belts off timing betl and marks are perfect
Mr. CORNEL, according to what you have said, one thing is possible, with oil level ok,battery good, means that the problem you face is that the Oil Pressure Pump lost the pressure strength and cause the Crank shaft as not enough Oil to get lubricated sufficiently, cause the crank and rod bearings to seized on the crank shaft and that's why you do have hard turnings. In other words the engine seized and must call you mechanic to help and advise. The Red Light blinking before was the warning to that something was wrong with the oil pressure.
Gauges turn signals speed ometer not taking gas
Your problem sounds like dirty battery cables. Either that or a loose connection. I strongly suggest you have it checked out by a Certified Technician. This condition is normally found during the Summer season while temperatures range in the 80F to 90F degree temperature range. It may also be a failed battery.
How to repairs
If you wish to get an answer you will have to state more clearly exactly what you are talking about. "What do I need to change a switch o what".
Obviously you are talking about some kind of Switch? If so what switch is it that you are talking about?. I am not familiar with Toyota but changing a switch of any kind is relatively easy. I strongly suggest you obtain a service manual that defines how to for your Camry.

How do you adjust window angle 1999 Camry for better seal
you would need to remove the inner door panel. Loosen the bolts that hold the window regulator in place. Look for any slotted holes with the loosened bolt heads--those are your adjustment holes. Manually tip the window forward, noticing which bolts move and tighten accordingly.
License plate light 1999 toyota camry
is the :
fuse ok?
bulb socket ok?
new bulb ok?
power reaching the bulb socket?
ground good?
buy/borrow a cheap multimeter and you can probe your way to where the fault lies
Relay Switch / Fuse
Get a wire with a 12v light or a TEST PROBE. Put the Probe between the NEGATIVE WIRE and the NEGATIVE TERMINAL (you can also do this with a Multi-Meter (but make sure you have it set on the HIGH SETTING with the Plugs so you do not burn up your Meter.
Doors open will put a drain on your battery so shut the door and wait for the lights to go off *(up to 5 minutes).
Pull one Fuse at a time and see what happens on the Drain. When it goes down low, you have it narrowed down to a system
Then troubleshoot internally of that system.
Alternators are known to do exactly this.... Food for Thought
Knock Sensor
