22re starts good but after a minute starts to lopes

surge, lopes, hunts, all same. but does it do this hot/cold or both engine temps.????????? Im and expert on this.... done many and is related to EFI fuel controls big time..... (ive even programmed Megasquirts to do this) first the rules then causes. Rule 1, The EFI controls idle at all times. so that proves. Macro reasons. 1: EFI lost control. (stuck ISC?) 2: Engine is missiing (too rich, too lean or never tuned up) 3: or both, usually #2 causes 1 , there are ways to solve this riddle my ways are simple i test the ISC, see if it works, (unplug it or power it with 12v power supply, ) Id clean the ISC first. this old car 1992 , scan tools are hard to find for OBD1 cars. so cant look to see if CLosed loop is working, I can with a scope but you dont have a scope. you could put in the diagnostic check jumper and hope for an error code to flash out. you can look as spark plugs (newones work wonder) and see if its burning fuel correctly (like old school carb days) black?> white tips> all engine carbs and EFI all will surge when lean,. all, and on EFI it will in fact try to stop the surge, if lean enough the EFI can actually make the surge worse is it tries desperately to correct the impossible.@! that be surge. i learnd that loping my mule one day.. LOL

1998 ford 150 4.2 does it have a cold start sensor

its EFI right>? and all EFI runs off an array of sensors. if you want to work on this car, why not read the FSM. the FSM covers all this or at the least pop for alldata.com for $15 lousy bucks. why not post symtoms..... my wild guess, is bad cold starting, cranks fast.

1992 Toyota Pickup Shorted Positive wire to battery with the Negative post now won't start

There is a good chance that you have blown either a main fuse, fusible link or possibly an ignition component. Is it a diesel or petrol vehicle? Does the engine crank over or not?If you give me a bit more info I would be more than happy to try and help you further.

1992 toyota pickup wants to start,but won't

Go to the basic first, for the injector to fire the EFI fuse has to not be opened, injector will have +B on one side and a ground signal from ECM. You dont need to jump it,you need to verify power, then verify signal. check for power first, then check for signal. If there is no power youll trouble shoot from there, then you ll need to check for signal, the signal is generated in the disributor this is called a pick up. First the power the power is from the ignition switch to the igition coil, because you have spark there is no reson to check for power. What gets me is you have spark but no injectors ,your basically need to trouble shoot a open wire condition

Thanks to every one that sent suggestions. Here

you need to verify where is the voltage line of AM2, you may have a problem of the wire shorting out on the ground when your car on full speed after 7 to 8 miles.

Have 22re engine - truck runs great cold when

i would look at the temp sensor. i believe when they fail, they peg out all the way cold or all the way hot. so your truck thinks it is still cold when you have reached operating temps, causeing your misfire.
