HEAD LIGHTS
I will need more information especially the circumstances when the problem first occured.
How do i drain the transmission fluid in camry
A/T?
some have drain others not.
why not get a full flush with filter.
avoid Jiphphyboobs.
go to a real shop with real ASE techs, and bingo a real fuse.
when you drain the pan about 1/3 comes out.
so if its filthy ATF, that dont cut the mustard.
worst case.
to do it right, you, drop the pan, (big huge flood) and then
replace the filter.
they put the new gasket, and seal it up and do
a full flush with the special machine, that replaces all ATF fluid.
(2 tanks and pump on a cart)
its not cheap but automatic shifting is a luxury. so you must pay.
not doing it right , invites low transmission life.
do it at the 60k mile service point.
(ignore all EPA bs to contrary)
I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon XLS V6. Engine light
i honestly have never seen a knock sensor go bad. a knock sensor detects spark knock, which is from low octane gas. if it hears this then the ecm retards the timing to stop the knock. you wont be able to hear the knock that its listening for. its like a little microphone stuck in the block. before you replace it you might want to check the plugs on the sensor itself. if they are corroded they could cause this problem.. ANYTIME you have engine codes ,always check your ground cables on the engine and the battery. i work in the marine industry and you would be amazed all the codes you can get just from having a corroded battery cable..like i said , i have never seen a knock sensor go bad..

See here p13. You unclip the air filter housing top, loosen the circlips around each end of the boot (or corrugated hose), pull off the smaller hoses which join it, and wiggle it loose at each end. It is easier if you move the air filter housing top aside.

Key wont turn
The ignition lock barrel assembly is worn, a common problem in old Toyotas. You will need to take the lock barrel out and go to an auto locksmith to get the pins replaced and the keys remade. See here p12. Note you don't have to do that alarming stuff on p10-11, but you do have to get the key to work one more time by jiggling it and wiggling, to get it to the ACC position.

I turn the key and nothing happens
The most likely thing is a dead battery, possibly caused by a failed alternator, or just age. It may also be loose battery connections.
