After driving long enough to get to operating temp if I shut it off and then try to start it ithin 10 minutes it acts as if the battery is dead. won't turn the starter but battery shows full charge an

To recharge the current taken out of the battery during start up requires at least 10 -15 miles driving. Driving less than that, progressively drains the battery available power until it has not enough power for another start. Such a battery "resting" for more than 10 minute might regain enough power for a start but is inherently flat. Put it on a battery charger for at least 12 hours or go on a 2 hour or more drive. It should be OK for quite a number of starts even when doing short distance driving. If it is showing the same symptoms directly after to 12 hour charge/drive get the battery tested at a garage or battery dealer who will be able to tell if the battery needs replacement. If the battery test OK there might be bigger problems like a blown top gasket or problems with the starter motor.

Hi There how do i get rid of an airlock in the

Normally, you shouldn't have to bleed the cooling system but, there are two bleed valves. (these are the most logical locations)One is just above the water pump, and the other is on the thermostat housing. They are really small, and due to the age of your car, they will be brittle and almost impossible to open without breaking them.
You don't want to break them. If you are hearing air circulating thru the cooling system, try this and let me know how you make out.....

Physically look in the radiator under the cap(if one exsist's) when cool, for coolant level, and check the valve in the cap for sticking. If air is present in the radiator it can't get out, and more coolant can't get in,(from the overflow). Either clean the cap or replace it and check that it is the CORRECT cap.

If radiator is low on coolant fill it to overflowing, replace cap, and check that coolant overflow is filled to the COLD line or mark. The overflow is normally where you would add coolant. (never overfill the overflow) After refilling as outlined above, check the level every morning for 2 or 3 days until coolant level stops dropping below the cold mark and add coolant to the overflow ONLY. Do not open the radiator cap. Also, if you have even a tiny coolant leak anywhere in the system, air will get drawn in, instead of coolant from the overflow.

For more OVERHEATING PROBLEMS try these...Radiator fins dirty, clean with a strong stream of water, not high pressure water.Radiator clogged, try backflushing it, or replace.Thermostat stuck open or shut, replace it.Water pump worn out, can no longer move enough coolant, replace it.Fan shroud broken or missing....Electric Fan(s) not working, Check the fan, relay, fuse and engine temperature sensor's.Belt driven fan, belt slipping, fan clutch is bad, fan blades have flattened out. Air dam under front bumper is gone, loose, or broken. It actually has a purpose other than scraping on the driveway or curbs. It forces air up into and thru the condenser and radiator. If it's loose, airflow can actually push it out of place making it useless or blocking the airflow. Along with that, there may also be a plastic piece attached to the bottom of, and wraps up behind the bumper. If it

Car overheating, I know I

Stick with the OEM headgasket from the toyota parts department, you are correct in assuming that there is another problem that caused the overheating in the first place. Overheating is usually caused by an external coolant leak or a blockage in the cooling system, possibly a partially restricted radiator, stuck thermostat.

My 91 toyota supra has some kind of overheating

The big issue with these supras(I have one) is that the head gasket blows. Check for any white smoke from tailpipe or bubbling in the coolant overflow tank, or rough starting, those are signs i've had. I've also had trouble with my radiator/overheating, so doesn't hurt to double check that. Supraforums.com and Supramania.com are great sites too. If you ever redo the headgasket, do it right, that means quality headgasket, Felpro, or even better, metal headgasket, inspect/resurface the surfaces, and 75 to 80 lbs or torque on those headbolts.

My 87 toyota supra turbo

Hi, it is obviously the low antifreeze that is causing the overheating which is due to a leak somewhere.
Now about the leak, - get down under the car and look up under the waterpump (use flashlight), - there should be a "weep hole" underneath the waterpump on the casting, - it is to let water (that is leaking) out, - so that the bearings won't fail (real fast)! If you see water dripping, - (and a little trail of dried chemical stuff), - the waterpump is on the way out, - and will probably totally fail soon! Obviously you want to fix this, (and maybe water loss will stop)!
There has to be some problem - if water level keeps dropping!-- If pressure cap is good, it will let "expansion water" run out into "reserve tank", and as engine cools off, it will pull the water back in to fill the raidiator. If you have small leak, it will pull more and more out of reserve till it is completely empty, and then you get the overheating, (getting progressively worse till the engine destructs),-- if you don't keep refilling!

But since you have pour in some radiator leak seal, that will go along way to help seal the leaks..

Should be two black boxes in the fuse box labeled LH headlight and RH headlight. There is also a manual raising knob next to the light under the rubber boot. Leave them up until you get a new relay.
