Door ligh on toyota tercel 1988

There is likely a stuck switch. This is located near the door hinges on the metal door panel. Look for a pressure sensitive light switch there and examine the condition. If it is cracked, worn or otherwise damaged, you can probably use a small piece of duct tape to keep it in the "off" (pressed down) position.

EFI fuse Keeps Blowing

I had the same problem at one point. My issue was a bad grounding point from the battery to the chassis. I would say check all of your grounding points.

1992 toyota tercell wont start,

Does the engine turn over at all when you try to start it?

Check the wires going to your starter solenoid to make sure everything is secure. If all wires are secure, remove the starter and take it to Autozone to get the starter and solenoid tested.

Your starter or solenoid is probably bad.

I also have a 92 tercel. The starter is on the back side of the engine/transmission near the firewall.

I think two 15mm screws hold it on. And its easier to get to and remove from the drivers side of the engine. Remove the duct going to the intake manifold and the air cleaner assembly(the plastic thing that the air filter is inside) to be able to pull it out more easily. And unplug the sensor on the back of the air cleaner housing. After you pull out the air filter, there are 3 screws that hold the air filter housing on. On the very bottom of the filter housing.

I have a 1985 Tercel

If your looking to replace the engine, it depends, are you constantly spending money on other parts of the car, is the car a rust bucket? A used engine will run 300 to 500 dollars. With gas prices the way they are, it might be worth it. If you have to pay someone to do the work, then probably not.

Toyota wont turn engine

Hi.

If the problem is that the vehicle is not cranking at all check battery, starter motor and ignition.

Try jump starting and make sure that the battery is good and that the battery cables are well connected. Check if there is 12V at starter motor when you crank. If there is 12VDC and motor does not turn, then the starter motor is defective. If there is no power to starter motor check ignition. Start testing from ignition relay. Check wiring and check the ignition switch in the steering column. There is also a fusible link that must be tested.
If the engine is clicking but motor is not engaging check the battery power and the magnetic (or solenoid depending on model) ignition switch.

If the motor is turning but the engine does not start there are more things to check, including distribution, fuel pressure, vacuum system and electronic ignition.

It would be interesting to know the year and model of the car and some more detail on the problem.

Regards.

Ginko

Have you tried Autozone's web site in the repair section? Its free, all you have to do is register. Also Autozone markets AllData. Its not the greatest source but better than a Haynes. You can subscribe to Alldata online for a year (or longer if needed).

watch this guy, they are all about the same. find the routing diagram under your hood, it will have the size of the wrench you will need to release tension. you may need to make an extender for your wrench,

you can most likely find a video of belts for your car over on youtube.com, do a search when you get there for "toyota belt". all mid 90s toyota will be about the same so it does not have to a tercel.

ENGINE SURGES IN / OUT

Hi, this is called a shift flare and is usually caused by a pressure problem inside the transmission.
Line pressure comes from the internal pump in the transmission. When the pump pressure drops below the minium the problems become noticable. This problem requires the transmission to be dissasembled and rebuilt. I reccomend a quality transmission shop or a used transmission. The internal workings of an automatic transmission can be quite complicated and I dont suggest attempting this yourself. I dont even rebuild automatics myself only manuals. Let you fiance' know that he can pick my brain anytime but not all problems can be taken care of long distance.
