I have a 1994 Toyota Starlet EP82 the parking light, dashboard lights and fog lights don't work on low beam only on high beam. Can you please help?
a 84 or 94? ill answer with 1994
ok , not all problems get solved guessing, a real mech uses a thing
called a voltmeter and a thing called a schematic. to find the truth.
100% effective rate.
first off , are you in a USA car./ or canada,. must i guess?
and does it have the DRL option, key factor on all HL issues.
Daylight running lights (HL on all time )
parks lamps are a feature of low beams so is a victim.
so are dash dim-able lamps.
my guess is you posted to uSA 1984 Starlet but we dont have 94s here. no books either,
so get your own FSM for your country EP82
are you here> see wiki quote here. lots of variants would wide
and for sure lighting, lighting is control by LAWs of your imported
country, so not stating country (not one post in 8000 did) makes
answers, IMPOSSIBLE. even begging this , nets ZERO answers. ever. (odd that, very odd)
(eg. im in deep south USA)
quote
The Gi and GT featured twin round headlights and mesh grille, also known as quad headlights. These minor changes were only extended to Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and New Zealand. Hong Kong received Japanese market Soleil L. The 1.3 SE-G continued in Indonesia, and the 1.3 GS replaced 1.3 S in New Zealand. Production in Japan ended in December 1995, but in Indonesia continued until March 1998.
(yes, complex)
if i had the car, and no books sold, id still have my meter.
and id find the cause.
the path is simple (no DRL)
there are 2 lighting systems. (ground switches or power switched)
most are power. (working blind , you need to know that)
blind = no fsm schematics.
1: car battery 12v
2: : got power to HL fuses? and past them 12v?
3: switch. (combo switch) id fix park first. turn to park.
power to HL switch good? y/n 12v.
4 got power 12v to output of switch, (park is good start)
yes,
got power to any park lamps (pick one? any one)
ok im at the lamp now.
5 i have 12v at the lamp but it down glow.
lamp burned out., no, they all fail .
so i measure the lamp ground to battery minus lug
oops its 12v.
the ground is open and all park lamps are dead.
ill stop here, if ground is bad , there are 3 more tests.
